Once again… a missed opportunity…..
In this Thursday’s Hi- Riser… issue…page 4…a 1/2 page article for our neighboring town to the south…. Fort Lauderdale….their schedule…their fireworks….proudly authored by Alexia Campbell…Sun-Sentinel Staff Writer…

‘LBTS anounces fireworks”
‘Lauderdale-By-The-Sea’s celebration will take place at Town Hall,4501 Ocean Drive.The Beach Blast Celebration will begin at 10 a.m. and will include games,rides,food,music,and a classic car show. Fireworks will be shot off Anglin’s Pier beginning at 8:30 p.m. Free parking is available in various lots around the town, including the inside lane of el Mar Drive. (note;this is how El Mar was spelled)…For information call 954-772-3336,ext.0

With the outstanding signs made by Town Photographer Marc Furth…now in place near most entries to Town…what will surely be the most extravagant event this Town has ever witnessed…….pulling out all the stops…with a new venue….El Prado Park/Parking Lot…. with classic cars…numbering over 50… the kiddie “playground” set to amaze the young ones… snow- cone machine…beer truck…. Peggy from Aruba…..overseeing the food….along music up to Aruba’s standards…a grand prize raffle of a 50 inch Plasma T.V…….the “Sand Castle Sculpture” artist flown in thanks to an underwriter…that will surely be the show stopper ….leading up to the return of Jazz on the Square …and of course the fireworks…. JAM PACKED…. …WOW!….
It all follows a parade with more floats…more politicians…more digntaries…than this town has ever witnessed……

BCbythesea….will be in Philadelphia…celebrating where it all began….so here’s hoping for a big success….that all enjoy….all “get along”…and when the Sentinel pops up on my computer screen the day after….
LBTS is there….on the front with lots of smiling residents….in front of the sand sculpture perhaps?….
