Here’ the update on Washingtonia…and this writer’s home…
The Comcast box has been moved…depending on the “glass half full…or the glass half empty” point of view…it was done 5 months late or 5 months early….
Either way…it is now on the 9/25/08 Regular Commission Meeting agenda Consent item #11C…to pay $10,000 to Comcast for moving it!….YIKES!…
The change order item is per Walter Keller…HMMMM…$10,000…besides being over the top price wise…when was the last time you received a bill from Comcast that was a rounded off …. even amount?…
Why do we need to pay for a piece of equipment that was in the Town’s right of way?…
This project…Washingtonia…way back when at the beginning of adding it on was presented as a $20 thousand dollar job….that would be $20 thousand and “change orders”….
The new box will still be in the sidewalk …or the sidewalk will be adjusted forward…
Speaking of the right of way…here’s the situation in front of our home…
a few weeks ago the Town connected up to our sprinkler system to water the Town’s property….to water the sod….we called and said no way…the prospect of broken sprinkler heads ….a given to happen frequently…along with maintaining grass…when we have none on our property….gave us pause for the first time since we implored the Commission to put the sidewalk on our side of the street to save the large trees across the way….we thought we would be able to re-plant…WRONG…according to the Town….we were told grass only ….no bushes…no mulch…so we said to cap the sprinklers…and the Town would need to maintain and mow the grass…since we do not have any other grass….after several conversations with Town staff …it was decided the Town would maintain the grass and cap the sprinklers….(the sprinklers on Seagrape are watered by the Town…not the homeowners)…..we said sounds good to us….
Well low and behold…as of last weekend…the right of way areas on Seagrape…have trees…bushes and mulch!….
We have now sent an e-mail to the Town to say….”What gives?”…why the double standard…if the code does not allow it on Washingtonia…why is being done on Seagrape?….
We await the Town’s response….
Also on the Consent Agenda…11 A/B…change orders for Keller/Tenex….$8 thousand+/$15thousand+…
Also awaiting the retaining wall…we will pay for ourselves….
