THE IDEA WAS GOOD….BUT….
It was a good idea…the Entertainment Overlay District….seen through the prism of offering a step to the future of a pedestrian only area of restaurants…shops…entertainment…the beach and the pavilion …an oasis all around the square….usually portrayed in the urban planner’s power-point presentations…the marketing tool for places like Minto…to attract new buyers….
Somehow through a series of mis-communications…the background material produced way too many obstacles…especially in the economic climate of today….but rather than present it in a civilized manner…making the counter points…that have either temporarily or permanently stalled this idea….it became a pronouncement of legal liabilities…sleazy undesirables…painting a picture of the area as a potential “Red Light District” instead…….YIKES!….all in the usual overbearing persona of the “Ringleader”…of the only real circus in town ….
Seems this one will end up in the “doggy beach” category in LBTS…….DON’T ASK….DON’T TELL!….what is in that plastic cup….
