In a previous post this writer wrote about voting for judges by gender and name..and a dinner at Benihana with the gentleman who started the jaablog… the ensuing conversation about the candidate for judge who used her maiden name…subsequently the candidate for judge was challenged for using her maiden name…by her fellow candidate that would then replace her on the ballot…
Now it has been answered by the Appellate Court…and after being removed from the ballot by a lower court judge…and absentee ballots sent out…she is back on!…
BCbythesea…always wondered in this age of woman using both their maiden and married name depending on the situation… …how this ruling was going to stand…and as of right now …it did not….
John Olinzock returned this writer’s inquiry of why no “zero-scape” allowed on Washingtonia..VS Seagrape Drive…has to do with the Commission approving the landscape for Seagrape and only the sidewalks for Washingtonia…and not being allowed in the code….
Asked by many if the VFD on ATVs are lifeguard certified…and to verify called the VFD…the answer …they are not…they are “preventative” …and they are not being trained by a certified lifeguard at this time with the resignation of Scot Fowler….
Also asked….about the raking of the beaches…not until October 1st…due to the storms and the turtles…the LBTS beach is being done by hand…private beaches in front of the condos…are not…
Those in the know say this is ridiculous….as the turtles are deep below where the raker would disturb…but the Sea Turtle people…are a very large and powerful group…and have become “big business” ala MADD…Mothers Against Drunk Driving…just ask the walkers at night on El Mar Drive!….
