THE PALM CLUB THOUGHT THEY WERE GETTING A “GOLDEN SHOVEL” ….
BUT ALL THE GOT WAS THE SHAFT……… THEY WERE “HANDLED” ALRIGHT….
If you were scratching your head while watching the 4/2/09 Round Table discussion you weren’t alone….After the Vice Mayor and “Jimmy” boy came back…to join in…(False alarm at the Hyperbaric Chamber)…and the Vice Mayor took his turn to “pounce”…. He did what he does best… to take the onus off himself when he makes his empty “promises” ….
This time it was the Palm Club…Remember this one…the “Golden Shovel” he “shoveled out ” with the Obama Stimulus program …The Vice Mayor went to Palm Club after returning back from Buffalo (previous posts…LBTS agenda/meeting category)……Then sold them a “bill of goods” when he went to their Board meeting…Changed up a Commission meeting as if there were an emergency and packed the Palm Club residents in the audience like P.T. Barnum in a publicity stunt at their expense…No matter that there was no way the federal government program was going to pay for sewers…not even part of the sewers on private property…The Vice Mayor was obstinate when it was brought up…saying in so many words it was not for him to let government know the “details”…( HUH!)…Thus wasting everyone’s time…Town Staff…elected officials…all the while raising the hopes up of his constituents…
Commissioner Dodd from the get- go asked if the government was aware….wanting to save these residents from any false hope…He doubted this would fly…
So today…the Vice Mayor took this opportunity to accuse Commissioner Dodd …of “sabotaging” the sewers by calling government officials …saying he (VM) was called by an “irate” Palm Club resident………
As we watched the Vice Mayor shuffling the papers in front of him incessantly…We now know why…They were the latest batch of memos from the Town Manager including a memo which said Congressman Klein had informed the Town that the government could not provide sewers knowing the “ownership” of the property….So the Vice Mayor needed an out and fast……and pointed the finger at Comm. Dodd….as his BFF “Jimmy” crudely laughed…..
Commissioner Dodd had not looked at the memo yet…and had no idea what the Vice Mayor was talking about…asserting he had done no such thing..wouldn’t know who he would have contacted to do it…and asked for a “Bible” to make it known…how absurd the accusation was…..
Poor Palm Club residents and voters…. …You have had the “rug pulled out from underneath you” two times now!….
Remember this action ……in 2010…and make sure the Vice Mayor goes the way of the last guy that made you empty promises …..
You’ll have plenty of company…We hear the “boat people” pro and con…in Bel Air have made up their minds…..
No Boats…No Shovels…No”Broom Boys!”….
