‘Broward Republican chair might challenge Keechl

Broward Republican Party Chair Chip LaMarca says he is thinking “very seriously” about challenging County Commissioner Ken Keechl in 2010.

So is Oliver Parker, a former Lauderdale-by-the-Sea mayor who lost a race to state Rep. Ellyn Bogdanoff by 12 votes in 2004. Parker was subject of a recall effort in his city in 2007.’

“I like Commissioner LaMarca and I welcome any challenger,” Keechl said. As for Parker, he said: “I don’t think the people of District 4 want to have the dysfunctional politics he was involved in.”

‘Parker says Keechl and his peers haven’t done enough to slow down development.’
