BETTER THAN TAXING “THEM”…..
Long ago in the mid-80’s I remember my mother a staunch Democrat…who would now be classified as a middle of the road party member… I surmise…had an interesting conversation with a family member…who leaned much further to the left…at that time….
The conversation came about after a statement about the rich and the unfairness of it all……the tax system…not paying their “fair share”…the far left “talking points” even then…SIGH….
My mother replied that the rich…gave it back in other ways…”Just look around and open your eyes”…she replied…to what the rich have done….
We lived in Chicago…the North Shore…….and were privy to the best in museums…the arts…etc…world renowned institutions that were planned ….built…and maintained for the most part by the rich…giving back……
The memory of this exchange came about after reading the following article in today’s Chicago Tribune…
