RETURNING THE VISIT ….

How funny timing is…Vice Mayor Dodd on holiday is going to make a visit to our former Sister City Henley-on-the-Thames …They were here before the plug was pulled on the program…The funny timing …is due to this writer looking at the Feb. 13, 2007 minutes after reading the backup for the Coral Reef project included them…Low and behold…
“4. PRESENTATIONS
A. Introductions and acceptance of Resolution No. 2007-01 with regards to a
Sister City relationship with Henley-on-Thames (Dr. Kenneth Most)
Town Attorney Cherof read Resolution 2007-01 by title and content.
Mayor Pro Tem Clark motioned to adopt Resolution 2007-01. The motion was seconded by
Vice-Mayor Yanni and carried unanimously.
Mayor Parker introduced Dr. Barry Wood, Mayor of Henley-on-Thames.
Mayor Wood expressed his gratitude to the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea for cementing the
Sister City relationship with Henley-on-Thames and on behalf of the citizens of Henley-on-
Thames presented to Mayor Parker photographic views depicting the four seasons.
Mayor Parker accepted on behalf of the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and assured Mayor
Wood the photographs would hang prominently in Town Hall.”

Readers might remember when the Henley contingency visited…they spoke of their citizens rising up and making a change…nit quite what the majority at the time on the dais had in mind..

Perhaps, VM Dodd will open up the program and the relationship once again?…

POLITICALLY TONE DEAF?….

We hear new LBTS commissioner Chris Vincent has an Oliver Parker for Judge sign in his yard!…GULP!… Why?… The former LBTS Mayor should not be a judge…No way …No how!…. Very disappointing ….in this writer’s opinion… The Commissioner who was elected in March represents and was voted in by many who opposed the former Town Mayor in an elected position ….Not too bright…It’s akin to Comm. Clottey wanting Parker to be the Hillsboro Inlet Commission memberĀ  from town last year… While I happen to agree with all …Parker has a very nice wife…that is no reason to vote for him to be judge … My opinion…bad move!…

more to come….
