“THE BEST $40 ,000.00 LBTS EVER SPENT!”…

The new…deluxe LBTS-VFD ATV’s are sure the best money we taxpayers ever spent to cart around the official town photographer…and a few VFD members…including kids…all around our town…today…as the VFD fire trucks “parade” made its way through the streets…nowhere near the ATV’s though….according to numerous sightings…

This is the stuff that is going to cause trouble for the new VFD…it shows a disregard for the expenditure and its purpose.

Heard a rescue took place again today…but since the ATV’s were otherwise engaged… who was at the beach?….

Total dollar amount approved at the 9/25/08 commission meeting…$180.856.18….(includes total cost of consent agenda item k. …if already approved…deduct $81 thousand…the additional request on this item for $$3590.00 was scratched…still leaving approx. $100k)…this meeting alone…

The 1 million in escrow…from Oriana…the Furths… want to get their hands on it ASAP for El Mar…and their pal the Vice Mayor is looking to make it happen…he asked the Town Atty. where is it…with the previous Town Atty….which he should already know…when do we get…as soon as they get their final CO…and when will that be…any bets….as long as the owners can stretch it out…they will…they have deep pockets…and as told to this writer at the time of the escrow deal…the Oriana lawyer…who was aptly referred to as “loophole Larry”….and will find a loophole that make this million dollars…. the million that got away….

One Bert J Harris participant in the INTENT to sue the town…is in the process of going through the development department…which should take their participation out of the mix….Sea Colony…who was finally allowed to proceed due to getting their paperwork in under the wire eons ago before the change in the limits…thanks to the new commission…

Boring is the response we hear about the articles in the BTSTimes…same old stuff …written by just a few…with no newbies answering the call …daring to walk through the “scorched earth” gates of selling your soul for a byline….so don’t be fooled by “staff writer” you can count them on one hand….recycling old stories including the McIntee “bribe” that was “the news that was going to shake up this town like we never saw before.”…that was the first “I’ve got a big scoop” this writer endured from then Commissioner McIntee….like all the other “earth shattering”…”big scoops”…it failed to deliver anything but face time…and grandstanding from the dais and in the BTSTimes….

The competitor…the Futures is making itself known as a far superior publication around these parts…with containing the jabs aimed at their nemesis and his gang…and providing interesting and comprehensive content throughout….although a little “tweak” on the cartoons used for the opinion pieces would go a long way… somewhat too graphic… don’t ya think…. a scan of the many letters and viewpoints included in the paper shows…this is the local outlet for reader participation…kudos…
