THE LBTS CHAPTER 2008 ANNUAL GARDEN CLUB CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON….
The local chapter met today in Jarvis Hall to have their annual Christmas luncheon, along with a judging of Garden Club Member’s decorated tables either for use or exhibition…which included a Christmas red and green display… exhibition- score 97……a blue and white creation display…exhibition-score 97…a holiday presentation of red…white and blue…display…to honor our armed services, past and present-score 96 and a final display that was designed around the designer’s 18th century family china…including family crystal-score 98…..
The judge , who it is said will make a more official return in March for the Garden Club’s Flower Show…(details below)…then went on to present a place setting display of what she put together for the Dec. Yacht Club event held last week…which included a “screen” that can span the length of a longer table…thus offering a glimpse to what she provided…for the event…
This very informative speaker made time to explain the rules and regulation from the Garden Handbook and answer questions from members…including one longtime held belief taught to many attending this morning……the lighting of candle wicks…before using to display…is now no longer done…who knew?…
The members also spent a little time going over their upcoming events…including the Jan 31st Annual Garden Club Rummage Sale at Jarvis Hall…save the date…or contact them if you want to donate…it’s always well attended and well received by our community…along with being the club’s biggest money maker…
The 2009 Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Flower Show will be on March 21,2009…….

Not to worry about about the coverage of this lovely event this year……it was covered both before and during…..by the competing local papers…the Futures…prior to itsĀ start…….. the Times with both new owners during the event…and of course on this site…..
Mark your calendars…to attend the upcoming events…watch for photos in the LBTS local print newspapers arriving over the upcoming weeks…..and think about becoming a LBTS Garden Club member…if you have a green thumb!…
