LBTS Candidate Yann Brandt and family – 2016

Dear Readers…. I guess Sea Ranch Club was not as strong as it was in 2008 and will unfortunately bear the brunt of that loss as tonight candidate for commission Yann Brandt lost his race against his opponent Buz Oldaker who was heavily promoted and lobbied by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Realtors Association… an association he belongs to as a licensed realtor …This was a huge omission in his biography he purposely enacted to keep voters in the dark…in this writer’s opinion… He was the weaker candidate by far as he went head to head with Yann showing his utter lack of knowledge about the town with no homework done during the campaign to bone up on the issues he was sorely lacking insight in to…. Yann was endorsed by the Sentinel who saw those differences and recommended by the Pelican where the editorial staff was split … He tried mightily once he saw the writing on the wall at the League of Women Voter’s Candidate Forum and the underbelly of what forces were behind his opponent to let the voters know and to convey the differences and assure voters that he would not go down the road it seems we are definitely going down after March 29th… with no brakes in sight ….We will now see votes that will go down…4-1  ( Mayor Sasser who won heartily tonight might still be the 1 opposed on the apartment building purchase)……but….more often than not…. votes will be 5-0 …..It’s a return to those days this writer saw a decade ago… the Old Guard votes are back….It’s a sad day in Lauderdale-By-The -Sea….

Shortly after Yann Brandt decided to run for Stuart Dodd’s seat Mayor Scot Sasser made the upsetting and surprising decision not to run as a slate in this election or to openly endorse his former co-campaign manager (2010) making it much more difficult for Yann as this truncated election began….This about- face was made after Scot initially agreed it made sense do both and then for reasons this writer found contrary to the Scot Sasser I knew chose not to …..  Then the Supervisor of Elections messed up the ballots including Dan Darnell’s name after he had withdrawn within the allotted time to do so….and it was Yann who made the first calls…to the SOE, the Town and the Town Clerk to get it all straightened out…. when it seemed no change was forthcoming….I made the decision to inform Sea Ranch Club resident and board member Dan Darnell his name was on the ballot as he was in the dark about the snafu … but as he thanked me for doing so and knowing I supported Yann …I was informed by fellow condo owners that he sent an email to support Yann’s opponent Buz ….which was his right…but he did it admitting in his email he knew nothing about either candidate that early in the race… A disservice to those early voters ….in my opinion….especially since the issue of the Palm Club sewers  settlement and where each candidate stood was not known at that time….a bone of contention in the Sea Ranch Condominiums who have long said ( 1st in 2007) a settlement to Palm Club for sewers on private property means SRC will ask for our lift ( for sewer) on private property to be paid for as well by the taxpayers….( I expect other condos to do the same!)….  He also later was shown endorsing Buz Oldaker in his mailer/ads…. The only remaining political action committee in town the aging CIC organized a last minute meeting with the candidates to ask them questions and then have their small group of members vote to endorse one…Their Chair Ken Evans called to ask Yann to ask him to participate even though Ken Evans the Broward Democratic State Committeeman had already openly endorsed Buz Oldaker as the Chair of the CIC online and was making phone calls for him….Yann asked Ken for a fair shake and went to the CIC to get one….The CIC did not comply….they ultimately endorsed Buz even though his stances on the issues ran counter to their core principles … They said as much in their endorsement last weekend … causing many former CIC members to comment on the strange content of that endorsement ….. Then you had an onslaught of attack emails to fellow realtors and businesses from that Realtors Association….asking for funds for their guy Buz and for their own association….. Vacation rentals will increase in town big time with continuing lack of enforcement and increasing numbers in neighborhoods with large imbalances as a result ….They are shown giving him $900 in total in Buz’s Candidate Treasury Report turned in to the Town Clerk on March 11th with one more treasury report to come in June which may exceed that amount….That’s influence paid for …just like the downtown businesses who have donated monies ….and are sure to come before him  and others on the dais who accepted those funds….in my opinion….  Phony charges were trumped up at the 11th hour by the obnoxious Bob Fleishman… the former chair of the defunct north end of town PAC Unite Our Town at that CIC meeting with the help of one of his former nemesis concerning the VFD …. Yann was a member who proudly served and was the last one out when they were locked out by some of the very supporters of Buz who were and are involved with that issue as they were and are with the Palm Club sewers….being paid for by taxpayers as a “settlement” which will be sold to us a a “public safety issue” ….just as it was in the past….. The false charge made was that Yann was dismissed from the VFD in 2008….He received a form letter along with many others once the VFD was no longer the Town’s provider and they operating from a storefront on Commercial Blvd. doing training in the hopes of returning to replace the BSO…… Talk about negative campaigning…. Then there was the outlandish Buz Oldaker ads and mailer stating his opponent Yann Brandt had gone”negative” and was attacking him stating in his (Yann’s) ads/mailer he did not say what he is on the video saying …Saying he (Buz) did not say what he said at each meeting …until he took cover  and had a meltdown at the CIC meeting ….Yann Brandt was not negative he was forthright in trying to do what opponents are supposed to do…inform the voters of the facts and the where the candidates stand on the issues as candidates and when they govern……I thought those differences were heard loud and clear when that Buz  Oldaker mailer came last weekend due to where so many of those mailers ended up in Sea Ranch Club….. in the mailroom trash!….

This election continued from start to finish to be an uphill battle with so much to lose …and with a loss of 157 votes …. and the biggest coming from the 120 votes from the north …Buz Oldaker won with 54%…. certainly not a mandate…but definitely much larger and much more impactful than we’ve seen since 2006 showing …in this writer’s opinion….there is still a big divide in our town…. and districts must be kept in place… In fact…we may need to further address the way we vote by in the future by having the south end of LBTS vote for their 2 commissioners and the north end of LBTS for their  2 commissioners retaining a town-wide vote for the mayor if we see a backslide of governing in the next 2-4 years…..We are not one town when it comes to what we pay for and how we pay for it….or who we vote for and why…..The south better wake up just like they did in 2006….and keep a sharp eye on what is on the town commission agendas…what is voted on and how it’s enacted….with or without the peoples input ….and if the commission truly represents ALL of the people in LBTS….It’s a sad day in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea….

SMACKIN’ THEIR LIPS… FOR VOTERS TO BE “FILLED” WITH FEAR…

Dear Readers… Did the Roosters come home to roost?… The last meeting of the current majority was a fully orchestrated event…It had all the “Mc-Furth Gang”members in Jarvis Hall….(including Moe McIntee)..in all their assigned roles fulfill a last ditch effort to bring the voters of LBTS “pure propaganda of fear”… It must have been “hatched”at Town Hall East… and all in hopes that you the voters are ready to buy what they are selling …It was cheap and plentiful!……Tonight the white gloves were off…This was to be no fancy table cloth affair…This was a down and dirty…greasy and grubby …roll up your sleeves and prepare to need a bath just to get the scum off back door”Barbs”-on- cue!….CIC “Newbie” Liliana Pomareda was “sitting in wait” to sign up first before half past 6…Cristie Furth arrived looking like she hadn’t bathed in weeks…(Familiar- 2008) …A small but vocal contingency of CIC members were seated in a pack on the left side in order to boo as directed…and boo and hiss they did (who’s the real mob?)… Cristie sat next to Louis Dvorak, the man Marc Furth and Jerry McIntee told this writer long ago was responsible for many after midnight runs of mischief and supposed vandalism alongside them in the Parker days…( I asked him to leave my house alone as I left)…Christie Furth could hardly contain her glee when off camera… (On camera was another “Oscar” worthy cameo)…She was ready …”Smackin her lips”…like she had a big old bucket of KFC…She would tell this writer to shut up…she would boo…she was full of such cackling laughter  (like the cat who ate the canary…fried?)…as she watched what she designed,…..the most orchestrated meeting we have seen in this town since the orchestrated VFD Fire Dept. meeting ….   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDbw9CCLLHI&feature=youtube_gdata …. Cristie sat down when one of her “Swedish” minions came forth to recreate more hearsay …She was practically playing patty-cake with Louis when heard one by one tell their story…and what stories they were…Liliana acting all concerned about her children being on Youtube…(we hear earlier in the day the “concerned ” mother practically had her child running in the road)… The Youtube-child predator “angle” was  a last ditch effort to thwart the mess she put herself in with the camera putting a damper on her exploits!… The McIntee- Silverstone-Clottey majority stopped the DVD from being shown knowing it would contradict her claims of intimidation and fear after resident Diana Kugler stepped up to counter her claims and asked for it to be shown to put this matter to rest and let the viewers decide……. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aalo2v3NbJI …..(I can guarantee you if the time had been 2 years prior and it was a help to McIntee-Silverstone-Clottey and Furth…it would have been shown at least twice!)…..Liliana Pomareda broke the rules of the hall as she came back up to try and stop the DVD…as she used “politics” in the process….going after the Mayor…The CIC group had by all accounts “baited” their opposition…as they positioned their Mayoral candidate Couriel to set-up what happened on Monday night……Both sides provided the LBTS Police with reports…and it is an ongoing investigation……. What a proud “Den mother” Cristie was as she gave me smirked and smiled with zeal……overjoyed with what she…her husband …the McIntees…Silverstone…and Clottey created all in the comfort of her Hacienda …..Undoubtedly they were deep in planning it all when the residents would see their cars there 24-7…. (Sunshine be damned…the rules do not apply to them)… She had Hannah Hempstead, a nasty piece of work in this writer’s opinion taking videos of this writer and others in the hall …(Youtube bound no doubt)…Many in the hall spoke to me of their discomfort being around her at the break…Cristie herself  took to the podium to pounce and spew out a one sided “woe is me” type fairy tales as she stuck it to the Mayor (the Mayor let Cristie go on the attack much further than any other speaker in recent memory)….The residents who observed the incidents countered the claims  tit for tat with yet another resident stepping forward to say he was “assaulted” in the hall by “Newbie” Liliana Pomareda…This time with her glasses!…( On Feb. 9th it was paper)…YIKES!…They had their “Golden Parachute” Town Manager Esther Colon fully engaged as she falsely claimed (As you recall) with the assistance of Jim “He’s not a nice guy” Silverstone that her “Commission & Staff Past & Present Accomplishments” were done routinely as the commission observed its last meeting before an election… A look at agendas in 2006 and 2008 show it was false to state it as fact…and Jim Silverstone was dishonest to claim it was so!… (He is so easily led in her “recollections”)….

The Manager did a power point that was as political as it gets…She is very secure in her declarations of this being a Town Manager form of government and after witnessing this type of behavior she is right!……She  spoke of herself in the 3rd person…saying Esther Colon was responsible for so much all on her own…(disturbingly slanted and distorted)…She went head on in her politically pointed arrows at those candidates running against her choice of Furth-CIC endorsed candidates…knowing these candidates will offer her unparalleled job security and a Town Manager form of government that’s here to stay if they win!… She was rude to the Mayor..and equally nasty to Commissioner Dodd…and no one…put a stop to it… Cristie could not have been prouder!…She glossed over the fact that we had $18 million dollars  (now down to $12+ million) and could have built our Town Hall Complex…and our El Mar Project…and our drainage townwide…forgoing a crappy $ 2million dollar motel…and piecemealing McIntee Memorial “median walkways”…and we could have lowered the millage rate… She did not address all the big projects she miserably directed unilaterally…( Beach Pavilion/Public Safety Motel/ Off-site warehouse) the below the belt tactics of going after the Fire Marshal after she terminated him……the ongoing denigrating and out and out attempt to replace the Senior Center Director… and stopping RFPs from being read aloud as she claimed to be above reproach for opening sealed bids …not reading them aloud and taking them to the back room…….She did not point out her termination of  BSO Polcie Chief Gooding or leading on the BSO for months over their new offices…She did not talk of her thwarting public records requests and financial statements….looking the other way on VFD oversight…or anything McIntee-Silverstone related….Her payback actions to those residents and businesses that dared to call her on her actions……She left off the presentation her shorting the Chamber /Welcome Center and sullying their personnel…All this was aided and abetted by the current majority…They sat mute as she denigrated CPAs and hurled insults and innuendo to residents and businesses…. Silverstone/ McIntee love to  talk of her sterling reputation…her being highly regarded everywhere she goes… This writer hears of her other reputation that counters their claims from those who have felt her wrath… She and Silverstone and McIntee were responsible for keeping it quiet for 2 years that she gave herself a years severance if she is ever terminated……..and so much more…(prev. posts)….But tonight it was a last ditch effort to hold on to their power…… Yes, it’s nice to have a healthy budget…but you can have that with a Manager that understands her place in on the dais…and her place in the LBTS Commissioner-manager form of government mandated by the Charter!…

The Public Safety item was odd with McIntee and Silverstone “going after” the VFD Fire Chief for the Beach Patrol ATVs not saying “Volunteer”..The Chief was short and stood his ground and the BFF “Broom Boys”…were left with nothin’… (This writer has heard the VFD is not on board with this Silverstone re-e-lection…guess those who said so, were not speaking out of turn)….

Commissioner Comments was the most disgusting display we have ever witnessed in this town…thanks in large part with “Besotted” Clueless” “Classless” “Crazy” Clottey…She should be removed from office!…It was shameful…She lied and perpetrated false statements of racial slurs that she says took place in the hall…False!…A look at the Feb 9 2010 public comments (yes, again proves it did not happen!… She made statements to incite…and distort and then crossed the line further with references Nazi Germany… Going so far as to say her candidate received a threat to “kill” him.!….I am told the majority of voters (this voter is among them) feel worse about voting Clottey in than they do about McIntee or Silverstone!…WOW!…I could take it no longer and told her “Shame on you!”… She answered and asked if I wanted to speak since I know more… That was the only honest thing that came out of her mouth in this whole despicable diatribe!… Commissioner Jim “He’s not a nice guy” Silverstone lied about this writer when he said I said drivers that honked were “stupid voters”… I said they were “misinformed”…perhaps Silverstone does not understand what “misinformed” means!…Pecifically!… I said it was a lie…and I was given a warning…I took it gladly to right his wrong…… Vice Mayor McIntee seized his opportunity…He called for me to be removed and said it was a 2nd warning… A vote was taken and surprise, surprise…these three “led by the nose” Furth Commissioners voted 3-2 to remove me… I took the parting shot at the door to say “Shame” on them…and tell them they were “lying” …”propaganda”…”fear-mongering”… I am told the CIC- Furth “pack” clapped at my removal…and a call to give them a second warning and removal by the Mayor was voted down…3-2 by “led by the nose” Furth Commissioners Silverstone- Clottey-McIntee…It figures!… I am told Jimmy campaigned big time on false statements…and false attacks he said he received……and of course he steered clear  on his McIntee-like voting record!…I missed Comm. Dodd’s comments…and heard a small portion of Mcintee’s swan song…No matter…it was the same old tired stuff…No mention that he is leaving a despised man…who was given the heave-ho by the VFD  (who now says it’s our turn …meaning the voters …and the CIC and is slinking out of town… (Pod and all)…The Mayor finally broke down……Town Manager Colon was seen and heard chuckling at the Mayor’s pained reaction to what she has been in receipt of over the last 2 years and the last 2 hours of this evenings “game plan”…….. The Mayor shot back at outgoing, disgraced Vice Mayor McIntee that he finally succeeded after 2 years…He made her cry!… What a fitting way for such a “pox” on our town to exit!…The “bully” made an elected official cry!…Sums up the Vice Mayor’s..M.O.”Quack, Quack”…In the line of fire …the Mayor still called the present majority to task for all their bad acts…and said it was the voters…the taxpayers who paid the price.in the long run..not she!… This writer agrees…not she!…

Did they pull off this dastardly planned parting night of propaganda?… We shall see…Next Tuesday…after 7 pm…

Are the voters still uninformed in 2010?…Are the voters gullible in 2010 ?…Are the voters so complacent that it matters not as long as the ends justify the means in 2010?…

I certainly hope there is an  overwhelming number of informed voters this year and they are ready to say enough is enough to this type of shameful orchestrated fear-mongering….I must hold on to the hope that they will not fall prey to orchestrated race baiting being spewed as we saw last night in order to retain Furth-er Colon Silverstone-Clottey-Evans-Couriel style power over the next 4 years…Because it we are so easily deceived…so disengaged that we allow it to go on…heaven help us all!…

Time to come clean in 2010….. napkins …silverware…. table manners …and properly attired…. Leave the buckets outside the door in 2010!…

IT ALL EMANATES FROM HERE ….

Dear Readers …. Follow the “yellow” brick road …to the Town Hall East aka BTSTimes  aka Campaign Headquarters for Comm. Jim “He’s not a nice guy or a gentleman” Silverstone – Candidate Marjorie “Clueless #2 ” Evans- Candidate Joe “McIntee is God” Couriel …and you will find the  Fearmongering  Furths who are spreading falsehoods and not abiding by the rules…all in their ” No holds barred'(Idiom Definitions-If there are no holds barred, there are no rules of conduct; you can do anything.) campaign to retain their power in LBTS…

First there was the door to door style fearmongering being made by the Furth-endorsed candidates and their small contingency of misinformed minions…It is said they have gone around with falsehoods of the Mayor’s contributions…actions and voting record… They are using scare tactics  purposely misrepresenting the occupations of the Candidates Sasser and Vincent and tying them to actions made by previous opponents ….from the Furth’s past…

The Furths and the CIC  followed this up with their invitation and letter to their mailing list (many on the list have long been non-members who have not re-upped their yearly dues)…In the letter they wrote “A big THANK YOU to the many CIC members that showed up for the January 12th Commission Meeting. It was a standing room only crowd and it must have impressed Mayor Minnet since she actually cur off Public Comment speakers that were politicking. Of course the intention was to prevent Joe Couriel and Marjorie Evans from announcing their candidacy.”

BC- Let’s be factual- Jarvis Hall was full- standing room only on Jan. 12th because of the Senior Center- not the CIC!… The true amount of CIC supporters was minimal at best and non-existent after public comments including new Candidate Evans…. You cannot have it both ways…to say the Mayor stopped the “politicking”…but then say she did not allow it for the Furth- endorsed candidates…OOPS!…Candidates were told they could not announce by Silverstone-McIntee long ago ….and the NO Guard Candidates Scot Sasser and Chris Vincent NEVER declared their candidacy at the podium…Never!…OOPS!…

FLASHBACK!… At Cristie and Marc Furth’s place on El Mar…..there are shelves of old campaign stuff…and they pull em’ off those shelves every couple of years…This year is no exception… “The Old Guard/Unite Our Town folks will spare no expense to regain power and control LBTS once again as they did for 14 years. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW if we are to preserve what years of efforts by citizens have accomplished toward preserving our small- town charm and special quality of life. “.. YIKES!….

BC- Saw that one.. They used that one…and it worked…EXCEPT…Candidates Sasser and Vincent were not here 14 years ago…Candidates Sasser and Vincent are No Guard…and Candidates Minnet, Sasser and Vincent are also for keeping the small-town charm …as the voters voted for …OOPS!….

Yesterday they put out their latest “psycho-delic” edition  of the “Local News You Can’t Trust”……1 week behind schedule…and chalk full of Furth Fractured Fairytales….. and some election time no-nos…

OPENING UP PANDORA’S BOX? …..

1. On the cover the Furths are stating the Candidates are- “Marjorie Evans Commissioner/ Joe Couriel Mayor”…M.I. A. the required “FOR” ….OOPS!… The Candidates did the same on their signs…OOPS!…

2. Christie Furth FALSELY writes the “Unite our Town Political Committee – (UOT) Under Investigation”… She writes “A complaint was filed and probable cause was found- so the State is now proceeding with a full investigation”…

BC- Christie ought to know by now after watching Silverstone and McIntee go through quite a few “Full investigations” over the last 4 years where Jimmy and Jerry were the recipients of probable cause found for each……She knows that probable cause can only be found AFTER a hearing of the full Fl. Elections Committee in Tallahassee AFTER the investigation is finished…OOPS!…

BC- If there is an investigation those who are under investigation are prevented from speaking about it…Therefore for Cristie Furth to have any information and publish it for political purposes….shows that it is either the Furths and/or their BFFs who have made the complaint…OOPS!…

BC- The Florida Elections Commission does not take kindly to complainants who thwart their inquiries in print for political purposes and usually find a way to go after those who make such a leap!…OOPS!…

BC- According to Christie… the “more legally sufficient ALLEGATIONS” Section 106.022(1) -The complaint alleges that Unite Our Town, a political committee, failed to file with the department of state, Division of Elections, a statement of appointment for the appointment for the registered office and registered agent: and Section 106.022(3) The complaint that Unite Our Town, a political committee, made expenditures and accepted contributions without having filed with the Department of State Divisions of Elections a written statement of change of registered agent.”…It goes on to state  “an online search failed to produce any record of Unite Our Town ever being registered with the State of Florida even during the 2008 municipal elections when they first became politically active.”… Christie ends with stating “the State may investigate each individual transaction for legal sufficiency including all contributions received and all expenditures paid by UOT”…

BC- How low the Mc-Furths have sunk!…It must be a joint effort  from the looks of it….. The truth “deflector/ slapp -staff writer has always had problem seeing the forest through the trees…. and this one…may boomerang to the Mc-Furths and the CIC…bigtime….OOPS!….

1. UOT  is registered with the Town of LBTS because UOT only deals with politics within the Town of LBTS

2. According to a source the CIC is registered with the Town of LBTS because the CIC only deals with politics in LBTS

3. According to this same source if a political organization does not deal with politics outside of the Town there is no requirement to register with the county or state…OOPS!…

4. We hear UOT is not registered with the County or the State as a political organization because UOT does not deal with County or State politics …

5. According to this same source the CIC is not registered with the County or the State as a political organization EITHER!… OOPS!….

6. According to this same source the CIC  aka LBTS Citizens Innitiative Committee Inc. is only registered with the State as an non- profit corporation…and that Inc. registered agent is not always the same as the Town registered agent (see 2008-2007-2006)…

The “Staff Writer” writes that Candidates Minnet, Sasser and Vincent were all in favor of shutting down our VFD election night, 2006 and taking over our town.”… Get real!…This writer was there!… The Furth’s have slandered the candidates…who were not involved…and the Mc-Furths know it!… OOPS!…

The Furths write that Mayor Minner voted NO to awarding the Fire suppression services to the VFD…FALSE!… Mayor Minnet voted YES!….OOPS!….

Comm. Silverstone … a  VFD member and his pal Vice Mayor McIntee recused themselves for the transition budget for the VFD for $86,000 BUT…voted YES for the VFD for $900,000 !…OOPS!…

The Furths write Mayor Minnet voted NO against the Buoys ….FALSE!….Mayor Minnet vote YES to the buoys!…OOPS!….

Commissioner Silverstone is still  the “registered agent” for the VFD…a contracted vendor for the Town…and as such he was and is responsible for the VFD not having the correct status to allow for VFD supporters who deducted their donations legally…OOPS!…

NOTHING LIKE  CHASING SQUIRRELS …

Dear Readers..The decline in the once highly regarded CIC organization continues to be in free fall under the control of Mcintee, Furth and Roberts!..

Previously  this writer posted how things were done in the past when choosing a CIC endorsed candidate…The CIC spent much time, in following the rules and offering its members the ability to have a say in the process…This year…no such luck!..

The CIC canceled their meeting on the 3rd of January…and if that wasn’t telling enough… today on Wednesday the  6th  the board sent out an e-mail to their diminishing membership to come on Sunday January 10th … ONE DAY before the last day to qualify to for the commission stating in that e-mail that  they can endorse them now that they have qualified!…

For now on day 3 (before the end of the day updates) the only candidate the CIC has to endorse is Jim (He’s not a nice guy-He’s not a gentleman) Silverstone …Because there is no way they will endorse Minnet, Sasser and Vincent who qualified on the 4th and are already endorsed by Unite Our Town!..

THE DOORS OPEN TO QUALIFY TOMORROW  9 AM …..

Dear Readers… It’s quiet today in Town Hall…but tomorrow it will be quite a different story…Tomorrow is the first day the candidates for the March 9, 2010 Municipal election can qualify to officially run for a seat on the LBTS Commission!… We know three declared candidates already…Mayor Roseann Minnet, Scot Sasser and Chris Vincent…You know them as well… They made their way to your neighborhood in the past weeks….and you now see their signs all over town…from the north to the south… Who they will be running against is still up in the air!…As previously posted the CIC canceled (according to their site) a meeting tonight …It was thought they would be announcing who the CIC would vote to back one day before the official qualifying begins….This is quite a change from the 2008 election….In the CIC that was Chaired at that time by then-candidate Stuart Dodd and Vice-Chaired by this writer…the candidates had already answered an extensive CIC questionnaire put together by CIC member and former Mayor Ken Wardlaw…The candidates had been to several CIC meetings to answer questions and the CIC was mailed ballots to vote for candidates…as well as a final vote done prior to this time to officially validate that the candidates were CIC endorsed…

With the fallout of Vice Mayor Jerry McIntee’s big gamble and big landslide loss for VFD Fire Chief and his all-out “war” to take the VFD down and go after Chief Perkins with an “oversight” assist from Town Manager Colon (prev. posts)…how could the CIC back him?… After all, THE major accomplishment for the CIC-PAC after getting the “Broom Boys” elected in 2006 and getting the majority on the dais in 2008, was and is the return of the VFD!.. So can the organization and the Furths still find a way to back McIntee now that he is actively trying to destroy the VFD because they did not support him for Fire Chief?… That will be some spin if they do!…Just how much Kool-aid would need to be consumed to make that appear kosher?… As for Jimmy-boy (He’s NOT a nice guy-and certainly NO gentleman) Silverstone…We are told he too is actively helping McIntee and Colon fro behind the scenes to hurt the VFd (being we are told 1 of ONLY 4 -5  members that actually voted for Mcintee to be Chief)…We  have heard from countless patrons that his Fiancee’ does not want him to run…And those he used to be friends with but threw under the bus to aid and abet his BFF McIntee and TM Colon have told him his “unfinished business” is finished and to get his priorities straight!.. “Walk away from the dais,you’re done!”… Cristie Furth, appears to have no one left to enlist..Will she usurp Silverstone’s Fiancee’ and get Jimmy-boy to do what then-candidate Dodd would not?…(Sausage series-cat.)…Ms. Furth, as longtime readers will recall was promised by then-candidate McIntee in 2006 that in the next election (2008) he would back her for commission …That did not happen when Stuart Dodd chose to run for the seat…(This writer backed him)…Stuart would not switch to run for Mayor (despite Cristie’s pushing hard for it)…and McIntee while feigning his support for Christie did “a McIntee” and threw her under the bus as she was assured of time to explore her options by enlisting Peanuts (who will always be Peanuts, not Larry) Wick…Thus ending her run in 08…We have heard for some time she would try again for a commission seat…and unless it is she who wants to run against the incumbent Mayor… In the end it will be quite interesting to see who has Jimmy-boy’s ear ..the Fiancee’ or the Furths?… As for Peanuts… We are told his longtime acquaintances have also told him, take a pass…Especially after his embarrassing “boy-messenger” time at the podium at both meetings in December…and going after the Mayor’s long- gone previous campaign manager and Greenfest …a non-starter for a “paltry $33″…that has cost the taxpayers much more in Town attorney fees…Also, he’s a goner for a run after Commissioner Clottey essentially called him a lush for his intoxicated and slanderous attacks on the Mayor in her [Clottey] presence at the Chamber’s Holiday party at Aruba in order to defend herself for not interjecting or stopping him after a resident called Clottey out on her “assist” in the diatribe at public comments!…We hear overtures have been made from the “Gang” to the Bel Air Assoc.President and Vice President…. to no avail..A look at the last  required CIC  filing with the Town proves that  the lack of attendance in Jarvis Hall since the orchestrated “CIC-Parade” of support for TM Colon…(prev.posts- TM annual performance review) is due to lack of members…In 2009…most members were from one building of  a new member’s ( Furth friend /BTSTimes staff writer) building in the south and VFD members…. One member that is new, a VFD member has told many he was being actively “courted” to run for Mayor is now as of Dec. 14th a newly elected  officer in the VFD and openly anti-McIntee …So there is a conflict ..via the still in place and again observed VFD By-laws prohibiting an officer from being an elected official…

So what can we expect in the next days of qualifying for the March 9,2010 election? … Who knows?..

The disarray in the CIC finds itself in now, was written on this site long, long ago…right after the last election…with the Sausage series…The PAC voting  Cristie Furth and Moe Mcintee  (the new Vice Mayor’s wife) in as Chair and Vice Chair…They actively changed the organization from a “watchdog” group to a Jerry McIntee “Cheerleading” group…and nothing else with the vile e-mails and verbal attacks from these two and the current Chair/ BTSTimes Editor Bob Roberts toward CAC (pre-CIC)  founder John Thompson…the “tar and feathering” of Commissioner Stuart Dodd after he requested a simple and long known “sabbatical” from the CIC ( Sausage series)…and the continued false statements of him being a “turncoat” when a look at Dodd’s 2008 campaign and his actions over the last 2 years prove he has not changed one iota …the CIC has!…

Guess the word got out loud and clear….from one end of town to the other…why in the world would anyone in their right mind want to run for the commission endorsed by the CIC, much less belong to this failing organization itself?…The CIC  in 2010 remains as it was when this writer left it in 2008….LBTS’ own “Hotel California”…”You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!….Just ask the VFD!…

Who will be walking through the Town Hall door tomorrow?…. Mayor Roseann Minnet, Scot Sasser and Chris Vincent…three fine candidates…who are fully supported…totally organized and ready to earn your vote!

WELCOME BACK “BUTCH” ….

Dear Readers … The CIC had their “Caribbean Christmas Party” tonight …and unless the “Truth Deflector” was flying solo in her the car parked out in front of Leisure Mar Condo Beach Clubhouse it looks like the CIC has quickly forgiven Vice Mayor McIntee for running for Chief of the VFD!… He was joined by his BFF Commissioner Jimmy (He’s not a nice guy) Silverstone’s who parked at Town Hall East two cars down from Commissioner Clottey…..and BTSTimes Editor/ Campaign Manager/Candidate  Crisite Furth was seen walking toward the event across the road…..Hugs all around? …No surprise really, the Furths and the McIntee’s have certainly been down this road before…. Peas in a political pod…

What a turn of events this week ……In the Pompano Pelican today, writer Judy Vik wrote about the VFD election held last Monday night …(prev. post).. On page 7 were some very telling and honest comments made by newly  re-elected VFD Chief Bob Perkins concerning former Deputy Chief Jerry McIntee …”He blindsided us all and disappointed all of us with that move,” ‘Perkins said. For three months McIntee had been saying he was stepping down from being a VFD officer. ‘…. continuing on page 11… Perkins stated ” I wish he wasn’t such a mean-spited person”… The article also addressed the reaction of the community…”positive feedback from the community and town commissioners”…And something the VFD probably will be stunned about …the positive remarks made by those that McIntee has long tried to convince the members would take them down if he [McIntee] were not in charge…former Commissioner Clark ” I wish everybody well and want them to continue to do a good job”…Louis Marchelos ” They made their choice for leadership,. I feel they made the right choice. It was a secret ballot, but I heard it was a landslide.”…and Bob Fleishman Chair of Unite Our Town ” The will of the fire department has spoken. It’s a great day for the VFD”… and as for the Vice Mayor “McIntee could not be reached for comment.”… OUCH!…

So who was so willing to sit down with the “Broom Boys” tonight? …Are these CIC members aware of the plotting and planning (prev. post) by McIntee and Silverstone to try and undermine the department?… Will the CIC still back McIntee and Silverstone for another run at 4 more ears now that the VFD has thrown down the gauntlet?…

After all, if the men and women of the VFD would not vote to support McIntee for Chief, why in the world would the CIC back him and why would they think the voters will vote him in for 2 more years as Mayor or 4 more years as Commissioner?…

From what this writer hears all around town… they wouldn’t…

Time To Step Down Commissioner Clottey …

Dear Readers … This writer walked up to Town Hall today to sit in for the opening of the bids for the sale of the Development Department trailer (ITB 09-12-01)  … As I approached the hall I saw the Director of the Senior Center sitting outside on the Jarvis Hall portico… I went to say hello…I was surprised to see him outside due to the LBTS staff Christmas luncheon going on inside Jarvis at that time.. I asked Armilio if he was invited and he told me no!… I told him he was in good company because the Mayor was not invited either!… I went on to also tell him Commissioner Dodd was not invited by the Manager until last night at 6 pm…and of course he could not attend on such short notice due to work commitments… Inside the hall was the Manager ..administrative staff and town employees…Marc and Cristie Furth…. Commissioner Silverstone as Santa (that costume must be pretty ripe by now…after Christmas- By- The-  Sea and Marie White Christmas) …BSO … AMR and the VFD… But the Director of the Senior Center was literally left out in the cold!… M.I.A. was Vice Mayor McIntee…and after asking about any “Butch” sightings…one invitee said…”I thought he’d show up as an Elf!”…The Mayor though uninvited stopped by to pick up her mail and popped in…We are told the Manager was quite cold toward her…not quite the same as when this writer observed in Town Hall Comm. Clottey come in only to be warmly greeted by Ms. Colon and told “You better hurry, they’re running out of food!”…So much for not playing politics!…

But there is something much more disturbing then the cold shoulder and the lack of a proper Town Manager  invite to the Town Christmas luncheon folks!…

Thanks to “Clueless” Commissioner Clottey…and her galpal Town Manager Colon…the Senior Center has now shut its doors to many of the people who enjoyed and participated in it for such a long time!…

You may recall from previous posts that it was Comm. Clottey who pushed the Manager to go for an RFP for the Senior Center…The Manager quickly and happily complied and assisted… She bypassed bringing it to the dais for discussion and underhandedly asked the Director to write a job description…Then she threw him under the bus when she used it to find his replacement…There was an uproar after this writer posted what they had done…Nevertheless their Mc-Gang joined along…and in the end they needed to cave …but not due to pressure from the petitions or the calls they received  from constituents…They caved from lack of anyone else swooping in for job!…At the meeting to approve the RFP the “Gang” tried to appease those angry with their actions…And the Manager was less than truthful concerning her intent of combining the Director’s duties to incorporate the recreation programs (although it is still in the contract)… Commissioner Clottey obviously didn’t think she had done enough damage …as she continued to push forward ideas that we were not complying with the criteria of what is allowed for such centers … She stated the center could only be used by seniors 65 or older and of moderate to low incomes…She also wanted excursions to plays etc…to be incorporated… The Manager said she would “oversee” the concerns of Clottey with “spot checks”…What a gal…oversight for the Senior Center…but none for the VFD!…

Armilio sent a letter to the Manager after that exchange looking for clarification on what age would be allowed. to use the facility….He received her reply…It is posted on the Senior Center door today…SADLY!…

And while you’re at it make sure to thank her “Mentors”…the CIC and Marc and Cristie Furth”… Commissioner Birute Clottey doesn’t make an “instrumental”  move without them!…

GOT THAT SINKING FEELING ….

Dear Readers … The Dec 1, 2009 Commission meeting started off on a high note with Rabbi David Mark, from Temple Shalom in Pompano Beach. He thanked the Mayor, the Commission and the residents for honor of being asked to deliver the invocation. He was there at the invitation of our Town Chaplain Rev. George Hunsaker. The Rabbi faced the audience as he spoke asking “God to bless this assembly as they have gathered to deliberate the laws and governance of their community. May their council be like a tree planted by streams of water that brings forth fruit in its season and whose leaf does not whither, so in whatsoever they do their town will prosper.”…He went on to bless those that serve their country… The audience members appreciated his words and thanked him as he walked by to leave the hall …. The high note was a short note as we began public comments …

Now listen, Rosa the tomato lady, you may want to admonish your pal Cristie Furth as you did the candidates running for commission last month, for she too came  with her speech written…so do the same rules apply?…

Ms Furth must be feeling a sinking feeling these days…she can’t catch a break…the old “tricks” don’t work and the smiling, fake glibness…well it ain’t cuttin’ it anymore either..and tonight’s “blasting the politics of the past”…did not fare well either…

BC-[commentary included]

“Good evening everyone, Cristie Furth,” [she sighed] “I have listened to the Unite Our Town speakers express their outrage at this podium meeting after meeting about how terrible the political opponents are running the town. So I began to wonder where their outrage over similar type issues was before 2008 when their Old Guard friends had been a majority for fourteen years?   Today they’re all outraged about ethics and conflict of interest. Even when there’s no financial gain.” [conflict of interest comes without financial gain, a concept Ms. Furth and her Gang still do not get] But yet when Commissioner Yanni sat on that dais for eight years as an Eighty five thousand dollar a year paid BSO employee and voted yes for BSO every single time, never heard a peep.”[ Comm. Yanni, is on record going to the same Fl. Ethics Comm. that both Comm. Silverstone and VM McIntee say is the only agency required for ethics and conflict of interest. A letter from Ms. Furth’s husband Marc was sent addressing Comm. Yanni’s  situation and Comm. Yanni was found to have none due to his job description. Ms. Furth cannot support the current dais members and their stance on the Fl. Ethics Comm. and have a double standard  for former Comm. Yanni.] “You want to talk about trust? Where was the outrage from theses folks when the Old Guard fired the entire volunteer fire department  after sixty years of service on election night and placed armed guards in front of their quarters the next morning to prevent them from entering”.[ While it was a bad move by the Town, Marc Furth himself informed this writer that the act was due solely to Comm. McIntee’s actions behind the scenes, and despite many including the Furths imploring McIntee to back off so the VFD could remain viable until the next election. McIntee would not listen] “Unite Our Town seemed just fine with that How about when the Old Guard refused to discuss firing the VFD at a special meeting leaving a packed room of over 300 residents behind.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDbw9CCLLHI&feature=youtube_gdata [ This meeting was orchestrated by McIntee , and unfortunately most of those in the audience, this writer included were unaware of the reasons behind the action and what was still going on to exacerbate the situation] “Where was the outrage when the Old Guard Commission selfishly reinterpreted the term limits referendum so it would not apply to them?” [ Where was the outrage when Vice Mayor McIntee went back on his word to not be a VFD officer, broke the VFD By-laws to return to be Dep. Chief?] “Silence from Unite Our Town. You want to talk about back door deal and corruption? How about giving away water views, Sea Grape’s cul-de-sacs and one lane on El Mar Drive away to developers for free”.[Why at this late date is it that the “Gang” does not understand a cul-de-sac does not give water views to a private property? Where was the outrage when Ms. Furth changed her decision to use  the Oriana million to return the 1 lane in front of Oriana back to 2…saying she liked it after all]” Unite Our Town saw no problem there. How about the Old Guard turning a blind eye to the mountain of complaints that Oriana was illegally building into the set back. [ No Gang outrage for a crappy 2 million dollar motel , they turned a blind eye] No outrage from Unite Our Town when Commissioner Yanni told an audience member that he had more integrity in his little finger than the resident had in his whole body and called another citizen a liar. [ Pick a date and a meeting for all the times McIntee called audience members liars and worse]”Or when Mayor Parker called an audience member a foul name from the dais and said don’t vote for the jerks during the campaign.[Hold on isn’t this “Mr Oliver”, Comm. Clottey’s Hillsboro Inlet nominee and Moe McIntee’s favorite Mayor of Decorum?] You want to complain about stifling the voice of the people. Where was Unite Our Town’s outrage when the Old Guard limited public comments to  a half an hour and only allowed people to speak on agenda items?” [ This comment was priceless as Furth and her co-horts have tried to enact the same restrictions ever since their support went south!] Where was their outrage when the Old Guard fired three board members without cause, [ No CIC outrage for the despicable behavior the “gang” in the board appointment process with Mrs Booth and others under the direction of Ms. Furth herself]” tripled the fire assessments,” [ less fire assessment, but it could be lower except for a purchasing frenzy the Vice Mayor has been on ]gave big town contracts to their cronies.” [ Town Manager Colon’s picks for vendors fit the same bill]” Refused to allow Athena Saturday night events. Put the town thirty million in debt.[ same pre-payment penalties/ Finance Director was TM  Colon]  Held a Christmas Eve special meeting to put a developers referendum on the ballot”, [ the ethics/ heights put on late in the game tonight ]”promised to user tax dollars to put sewers on private property” [ The MacMillans/ McIntee fought to support the sewers in Palm Club early on in the 2008 election along with Peanuts Wick] “hardly ever put out RFPs,” [ What a hoot, only reason RFPs went out after 2008…Comm. Dodd went against the “Gang” and Town Mgr.] stonewalled citizen referendums”.[ “Gang” stonewalled the ethics ordinance and the Town Manager’s contract required annual review]” I could go on and on [ and so could I, the Town Manager’s contract, Chief Gooding, BSO Police, Patrick Pointu, Scot Fowler, Fire Marshall, substandard Dept. Heads, Beach Pavilion, sewers, infrastructure, unsold warehouse, insurance for Commissioners, Cell phones for Commissioners, $300,000 to pay off loans] “but suffice to say there was no outrage because the Unite Our People, the, the because the Unite Out Town people condoned all of it.” [ No outrage because the CIC is a dying group of chain of command cheerleaders/ a patronage army condoning all the same bad acts they fought to replace]” Their deafening silence back then when we had serious corruption on the dais belies the crocodile tears they shed today over insignificant issues” [ For Ms. Furth to call the actions taken by her majority “gang” “insignificant” and not corrupt ,in this writer’s opinion, says it all…out of touch and in denial, and sinking fast]”and that is the definition of hypocrisy.” [ and that is, the very definition of hypo-CRISSIE Furth!] “Thank you.”..[a few of the supporters left, clapped]..

I had signed up with the intention to pass up public comments..but could not pass this opportunity to follow Ms. Furth up…

“Good evening, Barbara Cole,. I wasn’t going to speak. I mean this sincerely. Everything that you just heard, take out Unite Our Town, fast forward two years put in CIC,. There you go! Their CIC people have been complicit in being quiet to what’s been happening up there on the dais. I haven’t seen any outrage over what has taken place in the last almost two years. I would say hypocrisy works both ways and we will see what happens in the future. Thank you.”

Finally folks, two important points to remember…both organizations are no longer the same as in they were in the past…UOT has a large, growing  new membership with two new “no-guard” candidates for commission while the CIC has a dying membership with the usual suspects for candidates in one position or another….they are now the new-“Old Guard”!

THE SUN SETS …AT SEA AND AT HOME …RIP 33′ Ft. Heights…

Dear Readers … For the first time in a very long time Vice Mayor McIntee did something good for this town… He took an excused absence and cruised away from from the first readings of the March 9, 2010 Referendum ballot questions… and while he and the Mrs. were relaxing  on the deck  or pulling the lever on the slot machine…It was the voters and the residents of Lauderdale- By- The- Sea that won big!…

With his departure for destinations unknown…and Commissioner Clottey’s failed attempts to defer until he arrived back at port… It came down to zip on the ethics…zilch on both height “clarifications”…leaving this next election to be run head to head on the records of the “Broom Boys” if they still go for another 4 years!…

We heard the clickety clack of  BTSTimes Owner/Editor Cristie Furth…as she walked from her corner in the back of the room to go backwards in time yet again…to  reach with all her might and go after the “Ghosts” of the elections past … It was another feeble attempt to try and remind those that it was not so very long ago she and her co-horts were the ones hearing the applause and they were the ones leading the way in going up against bad acts on the dais…

Sadly for Ms. Furth and her ever disappearing CIC-crowd.. they cannot grasp that bad acts know no particular group.. Bad acts are bad no matter whom it is doing them!.. She and her “gang” blew their chance to show they were different from those they built their empire on to defeat….when they took over the commission!…

There were no “attacks” made from the podium, and numerous orchestrated attempts from Commissioners Silverstone and Clottey this evening to call any commentary from residents and constituents who chose to come to the hall and speak out on the unnecessary referendum items, or commissioner comments made by Comm. Silverstone  at the last meeting after he chose to call them “anti-American”  and “anti-Town”…again showed the desperation that hangs over the CIC – inner circle!…

When it came to the referendum items the ethics  went down first as expected…as previously posted the intention for ethics went from zero to sixty in complexity …and as stated by Candidate Scot Sasser it took a wrong turn from what Commissioner Dodd had asked for…which was a simple, common sense ordinance that was based on one’s character and sense of duty to the office…Commissioner Dodd said appearance of conflict did matter…despite the senseless protestations in response from “2-Hats” BFF Commissioner Silverstone that “appearances are subjective”…Hmmm….

Strangely it was Commissioner Clottey in the first of many “episodes” this evening that gave all pause once again about her mental state…She admonished her constituents for not going out and coming up with their own referendum on ethics…(Later, this writer informed the commissioner that if she would have followed her own advice on calling and not making assumptions and called or asked those she was slapping down, why they did not have a petition referendum, they would have told her they were informed it was too late in the game, thanks to the stalling done by none other than…her and her group!) .. After some short discussion on the dais…Ordinance 2009-32  failed 3-1 with only Clottey voting yes…( she originally is on record saying she would not vote for an ethics referendum, but she would sign a petition for one!)…OOPS!…

Then it was the “lowering: the height to 33 feet in south end of town… with  Commissioners Silverstone and Clottey down at their end of the dais contentious  and convoluted in their stance.. They heard the people in the hall who chose to speak on the subject and if they held true to their records on past public commentary and “the will of the people” they would have seen this was a no go…But they knew where their bread is buttered on the height issue and where they park their cars  daily……at Town Hall East… They also knew they better do whatever and say whatever they could, even if it flew in the face of public opinion and the facts…as not to deal with the wrath of Christie Furth the Town’s resident “33 Foot Crazed Woman” (prev. post)…sitting all alone in the corner in the back!.. They tried..they tried hard…doing further harm to their credibility in the process to please Ms. Furth..but it was not to be..

Comm. Clottey showed her fellow commissioners a map of zoned areas in town and tried to deceive without proper explanation the listening audience with talk of 150 foot buildings zoned in the south end of town…( which later were explained to be the existing Sea Ranch Club condos, and two south end condos along with the Surf and Yacht Club aka CIC meeting headquarters…no longer allowed to go that high per the current height restriction of 2006 )…and as she grasped at straws to save the 33′ ballot item. ..she further put her foot in her mouth by again repeating falsehoods from her seat on the dais insisting there was a need for this to be voted on because the voters in 2006 did not get in the Charter all of what they voted for in 2006…

Talk about “clarification”…the new Furth invented word used to ramrod this 33′ foot lowered height referendum into the 2010 race…There was clarification alright tonight …but it came from none other than Mayor Minnet, who found decorum  and control of the dais was easy in this McIntee free zone this night…and both had to really hurt the McIntee-Furth-Silverstone -Clottey contingency where they sit!… TOUCHE’………

Mayor Minnet popped their political bubble…with the help of not one but two Town Attorneys…and she was assisted in her “gotcha” by none other than a “clueless” Commissioner Clottey!..Mayor Minnet thanked Commissioner Clottey for the informative zone  map…and said the zoning districts looks pretty straight forward, it certainly made it clear to her what heights were in place throughout the town…She then went on to ask the Town Attorney if she [Atty. Trevarthen] had checked and compared the petition voted in 2006 height referendum to the Charter and if the words of the petition had “accurately been inserted into the Charter”…Ms. Trevarthern said “yes” and brought forward her colleague Atty. James White. He said “the 2006 Charter referendum was properly codified into the Charter”… Both attorneys concurred that everything with the small exception of a clause was definitely in there. The clause was put into section 5 when found some time ago in this process and Atty. Trevarthen further “clarified” that even without it being included prior to their rectifying it’s absence it had and does have legal standing..OUCH!…

Not done yet, this writer wondered which one of the Mc-Furth patsy’s at the left side of the dais would try to stall this all important CIC-“Broom Boys” platform issue for the return of the much needed 3rd vote of the cruising off into the sunset ( a self-fulfilling prophecy?)…Vice Mayor to keep Cristie Furth happy …It was Clottey!…Besotted, clueless Clottey…who was ignoring the “will of the people”…who paid no heed and showed no sense of embarrassment for her deceit in repeating false statements about the 2006 petition not being correctly inserted into the Town Charter…Somebody get the net…She was whacked!… She didn’t like it and wanted McIntee included on the 8th…a motion was made to “defer”…and it went down 2-2..Dood-n0/ Clottey-yes/ Silverstone yes/ Mayor-no….A vote was taken…THANK YOU HALLOWEEN COMMITTEE!… With the voting board still out of order from their event…it was again done by roll…and it also went down 2-2!… But Clueless and now in this writers opinion, corrupt Clottey tried to change her vote to accommodate her beloved Furths… Perhaps, already fearing the wrath of Ms. Furth…She was met with a very straight forward Comm. Dodd who said he would then change his vote!…and discussion ensued over changing votes…prevailing sides…advice from the Atty. and the Town Asst. Clerk…There was no prevailing side…and then it came like a wave throughout the hall….the  sudden realization that the 33′ foot woman was defeated!… Vice Mayor McIntee and wife may want to stay on board!…

Commissioner Dodd called a break…and the room erupted in glee …the “will of the people” prevailed… as it did when the battered and bruised majority did so long ago, when they were in the right!..

After a brief time out…there was still the second version of the heights referendum to address…..and a few public speakers to speak on what many thought was a mere formality to address and discount.. Former candidate Edmund Malkoon called Commissioner Clottey out on her actions. and her declarations made concerning the last 3 times the voters dealt with the 3 over 1 height issue.. ..He  implored a loose lipped Commissioner Silverstone from further putting the Town in jeopardy after he [Silverstone] spoke at length about the Bert J. Harris lawsuit during the previous ordinance on height as the court reporter for the plaintiffs busily typed away!… YIKES!.. He was followed by his mother who also spoke to Commissioner Clottey and told her not change her votes every 5 minutes…..and then last to speak, none other than the 33 foot Crazed Woman who returned to the hall to again clickety clack to the podium to address the Town Atty. about any allowed increase in height that could be done solely by the commission…One last grasp at her attempt to control the 2010 commission race (with her possible run in the south) … Incredibly, Ms. Furth said she could live with 44′ in the end!… (This writer has put in a public records request for the accounting for legal and ads for the referendum items… instigated by miss one height only, herself!) ….. Commissioner Silverstone did his sidekick duties and asked the Town Atty. to answer Ms. Furth…and the Town Atty. said they could not increase if residential, only if by the Charter…..Again, voters need to ask themselves, how many thousands of taxpayer dollars were spent for these unnecessary referendums?…Silverstone looked like he was looking for a life jacket!…(perhaps his BFF can give him one from the ship he is on)…Commissioner Dodd went over what his stance was and how he spent the last 2 years hitting a brick wall to deal with the aftermath of the Overlay District removals, in trying to make use of the Master Plan Steering Committee and the Planning and Zoning Board… He spoke of  the consequences as addressed at both height public comments allowed by Manager of the Windjammer Diane Boutin and the impact these changes (not “clarifications”) in lowering the heights would have on her and several other timeshares if enacted and said there was a need to expand on the non-conforming definitions in the future….. Commissioner Clottey played it safe and said she would remain quiet due to the litigation situation…and a vote was taken Dodd-no/ Silverstone -yes/ Clottey -no/ Mayor-no…3-1…

Ordinance 2009-34 was also defeated….no 2nd reading…no referendum!…

Referendums ….One- two- three …Ethics- 33’Height version #1- 33′ Height version #2 ….SUNK!…
