Here’s The Scoop…Scene And Heard Around Town…

April 22, 2009 by Barbara

WHAT COLOR IS THAT?….

What’s the deal with the newly replaced siding on the Beach Pavilion?…

We know it needed to be replaced…but what happened to the yellow siding that matched the window framing and the paint?…

Depending on who you ask it is either “pukey green”…or somewhere between drab beige and drab green…made worse by the original yellow framing around the windows…

Those who know siding and salt air say siding does not hold onto paint…So what gives…with the color change…and who decided this latest change was okay?…

We hear yesterdays rains brought a flooded out pavilion once again with a foot of water….UGHHH…..

The new parking meter is finally operational at the east side of El Prado Park…but still remains in the dark after the sun goes down…

Note to 101 Ocean….You gotta take care of your regulars…don’t be cutting down of the portions or the ingredients in what brings them in your door……You know the old joke about dining out in Florida…during season…you call the skimping and the “flat fillet Mignon”… ” Season Food”…because the customer won’t come back to complain…but with season over…take care of those who frequent your establishment….

Scene over at El Prado Park former and possibly future CIC Mayoral Candidate Peanuts Wick informing a few visiting dog owners they cannot go on the beach…A woman with her hands full walking 3 dogs…told this writer she did not know…Code Enforcement McIntee style?….

Lots of people are asking about the siren the other night…and wondering why no heads up on Channel 78 and the Town website…scared many residents unaware of the test….

Another store is closing its doors…Pehles In Sea Ranch Centre will be leaving on Tuesday….Their Manalapan store will still be open…

Tedescos will be leaving 1 month earlier than planned…In May they head west on Commercial over the bridge in the same strip as Chuck’s Steakhouse…

The T-shirt shop on the south side of Commercial across from Kilwins looks to be closing very soon…with “Everything Must Go” signs…and a truck loading up display tables this afternoon….

Sad to see…especially with the “noise” ordinance debacle hanging over the downtown businesses’ heads…Have a heart Commissioners for your local business owners…managers…and employees………Have a  change of heart!…

more to come…….
