out and about….on a foggy…cool …and yes….. windy day…..
traveled around Lincoln Park area…down the street where my aunt lived for over 20 years….
a brownstone…that is now in an area of numerous coffee- internet cafes…. and vintage clothing….a block long Best Buy…and of course the obligatory Borders Book Store….
at least in Chicago … sidewalk etiquette is observed…unlike at home…..sorry to say….as a couple approach going opposite ways…there is still the shuffle to the right to make the transitional pass- by…. non- confrontational….
headed to Wrigley Field…to find the BCbythesea hubby stamped brick placed right in front of the entrance last Xmas…and after a scan or two…with 3 sets of eyes…it was right there…great spot…happy guy…with camera phone pics to remember it by…until we get to a game for real….
stopped in the Blarney Stone for a Chicago style hot dog…..a required food group when at the game or in the vicinity…although I felt like a traitor…when the dogs presented were from Eisenberg…not Vienna… a family relation… and Chicago’s real hot dog….
Tonight is the big deal…the fancy attire…many courses of a special menu put forth by a world famous chef at one of the top thirty restaurants in the world… and number 3 in the U.S…..Charlie Trotters…. you’re only 25 once!
Downfall of living in a hi- rise in Chicago…the heat in the apartments is only changed to air conditioning on the speculation of when it really needs to be switched over….so a portion of the spring …you sweat inside…and the reverse is true in fall…. done for the whole building….so no way to beat it….
More later…..
