Just how many funds are there?
We are facing budget time…..questioning please…
(do not return to the previous condition of years of the budget going through with no questions or input from the citizens…. status quo until 2 years ago when Commissioners Silverstone and McIntee joined the dais ….)
there seems to be a silence of just how many there are…have heard as many as 7….
when we are told there is no money in a certain fund….is it in another fund?
This is the stuff both local papers should be addressing…no matter who the majority is…
the residents in the center of both extreme factions do not care about the makeup of the town boards… they’re smart enough to realize they are advisory positions and those who will serve on Master Steering will follow the direction of the commission…. they also know nothing big is going to take place this year and possibly next…due to the economic downturns…
what is important ….where is the approximately 25% (just a guess from the amounts bandied about …) or 3 million dollars for just last year?… which funds?
as heard from a reader …”LBTS is not a bank”…. and the need for transparency… is what’s needed with the new commission and town staff….
what is it being saved for?…purchasing property?….paying down debt? cleaning out sewers after the illegal tax has been removed …the sewers still need attention?….what?
mixed messages are being sent out by hearing we have no money…and then hearing we have money….clarification is needed and warranted….
