“YOU’VE GOT MAIL”……
Residents….Businesses…Tennis Players….OH MY!….
Today…not only do the Commissioners have to deal with unhappy businesses due to alleyway closures…and new restrictions that have come around to “bite”them…(previous…. scoops category)…..courtesy of the Town Administration with an “assist” from the County…#3 on the “Business Hit Parade”…with Town VS Commerce…(1…was the closing down of Friday Night Jazz on the Square/2…. was the pavilion construction/ 3…the alleyways/ 4… sidewalk cafe seating)……they’re taking a double “hit”on the chin with e-mails from unhappy tennis players…who see no need to have non-residents using the limited town tennis courts available……allowed in the new 2009-05 ordinance…
Needless to say the tennis courts…brought forth by Commissioner Silverstone…and passed 5-0….were included Saturday Jan. 17,2008 in the Sentinel public notices for 2nd reading on January 27th, 2009……( a view of the ordinances published are in the LBTS agenda/meetings category under 1/13/09 agenda with follow- up in the overview)….
This writer wondered why…all 5 new ordinances were published…since all were not a “done deal”…a point I tried to bring forth at the podium during the discussions..with certain revisions…..clarifications…and the still missing EMS Fees “header” not addressed……sufficiently before the votes…
Perhaps we need to follow Pompano Beach…in regular Sentinel public meeting notices….and…now with their new e-mail …”e-alerts”…service to internet users………(see below)…
