Here’s The Scoop….Was It A Boat… A Body…Or A Diving Flag….

What brought out the “troops” tonight?….

A little after 7 pm…tonight 3/9/09….a call went out a possible distressed person in the water….and the VFD came out in force…2 beach buggies…flashing their lights…and 2 fireftrucks…

The scene between 5200 North Ocean Blvd….and 4900 North Ocean Blvd……

Vice Mayor/Deuty Chief McIntee-Chief 212 was front and center directing the trucks to Pine Ave. and Washingtonia….

2 BSO were on the scene…and told this writer it was a diver …doing what diver’s do…

The beach buggies stayed…the Deputy Chief..in shorts and a shirt…VFD Chief Perkins in VFD shirt and pants…as well as another volunteer…and one volunteer in shorts…shirt and yes…flip- flops….also about 4 of the firemen came off the trucks in bunker pants…a little while later….standing  and looking for whatever might be out there….

A Coast Guard helicopter made a few fly overs….and then it was done…

For the Coast Guard flying north….BSO going back to the front of Sea Ranch Club….and the Deputy Chief…back to the CIC meeting at the Palm Ave. Surf and Yacht Club….

What a story he will tell……

BC- still waiting for the VFD “incident Report” on the “drowning” McIntee said he was debriefing his members on an hour after reading the Dodd e-mail…that was sent to the Manager on 2/17/09….according to his 2/25/09 Commissioner Comments…

BSO/AMR reported no drownings have occurred in LBTS since mid-January….YIKES!….

more to come….
