AMR AT BEACH CALL….

Dear Readers….The concern is the VFD going on medical calls…such as this…We hear with chest pains these first responders could do nothing…..They proceeded to tie up traffic and block the Pier parking lot…All the while the beach was crowded with kids as school let out…no VFD- ATVs on duty…What’s wrong with this picture? …(pun intended)

BC- Yesterday this writer joined the many who have had near misses with the VFD going out on medical calls…VM/Dep. Chief McIntee nearly hit us when he left for a medical call in the north end of town….We were just about to cross Poinciana going east on Washingtonia…and almost in the intersection we had to hit the breaks…We were stuck at the light at A1A for at least 2-3 minutes and entered onto A1A as we observed AMR heading towards the call…We were already out of our car in the parking garage of SRC when we heard the VFD firetruck sirens approaching…heading north…

Why doesn’t VM/Dep. Chief McIntee understand that we all know his arrival stops the clock…it skews the response times…especially when we see he can do nothing upon arrival..(as witnessed¬† multiple times including his first on scene arrival at the recent suicide)…and diminishes AMR!…..And on top of that he is an accident waiting to happen!…

Many have contacted this writer about such close calls with the Dep. Chief…. as well as his total disregard for running through stop signs…turning on lights to avoid waiting at stop lights…and parking where ever he fancies in his SUV…Which also brings the follow-up from those inquiring..shouldn’t his use of the SUV be considered compensation? …

more to come…
