Mayor Minnet has made her calls to the other commissioners and is now in possession of the “global phone”…..
As Mayor she is the designated liaison….for the town….
She is in charge…..
Upon hearing this bit of information….this writer instantly had visions of the Andy Griffith Show….with Andy handing over the “reins” to Barney Fife!….no disrespect….Mayor…that’s just what came to mind…..a little levity….
Commissioner Clottey recently tried to present to the dais that it might make more sense for Comm. Jim Silverstone to be the liaison…due to his VFD status…and the fact that in that capacity he may stay on the island ….where the Mayor would need to evacuate….if an evacuation was ordered….
Unfortunately she was shot down by Vice Mayor McIntee before she could explain her reasons….typical!

BCbythesea hears Assistant to the Town Manager John Olinzock is at the Emergency Operations Center in Plantation….hunkered down….ready to make that call to the Mayor ….if the need arises….
All this for what appears to be a tropical storm…..
