Here’s an update on the Sea Ranch Club fiasco of 1 week ago…
At issue…
the alarm system in the building…
at odds…
firefighters not associated with BSO….
who say that an alarm system from a hi- rise condo should be connected to dispatch….for immediate response…
Our manager who says we are code compliant … we are not tied in with dispatch…for we are a 24/7 security building…
also…we currently have a permit problem with our system due to the following…
we upgraded the speaker system from what was on our submitted plans to Broward County…an addendum with specifications was not acceptable… although I am told this is the usual remedy for such an upgrade….we are holding final payment back from our installer…due to no final on system…after the Fri. night mess.. Sea Ranch B was contacted by Broward County…we will be required to start the permit process over…a costly and time consuming procedure…. why now?
A report …. has been issued….
indicated that BSO is stating the delay in dispatch time in the response time to the alarm is due to the lack of alarm not being received…
also it is reporting that all of Broward County computer aided dispatch was out… at that time….
any record of the incident is recorded on cards by the operator… is this the same operator that has us on hold repeatedly?…did not know where the fire dept was?….and after we were already evacuated…. gave permission for us to evacuate?…..reported to be operator #28?
This report is showing 2 calls at 3:04 am..from an apartment on the 16th floor…/ 3:08 am… from the manager…
although the manager reports the guard called and he called …..so there should be 3 calls…..
Report says engine #12 was dispatched at 3:21 am….
report goes on to say all floors were checked after the fire…which is being questioned by observers…
This report can not be the final word….
We need the 911 tapes…to hear what actually transpired….
especially since our condo video tape was confiscated by a BSO Detective on Tuesday….
Do not sweep this under the rug…
the problem is with the 911 call center….
answers are required….
