WALKIES…Saturday…
Trainer Jay Holstad is now open in his new location…34th street in the Galt…new place…new equipment added… tall ceilings…great accoustics!…
He can be reached at the same number…954-784-4877….for personal …individualized training…
This writer missed the program…and took a long walk to get there…instead of across the road…but it was worth it!…
Along the way…some observations….the morning breakfast now offered at 101 Ocean…is in full swing…and Country Eggs and Ham…had a line waiting …patiently…cars were slowing down with out of state license plates…looking up at Oriana…pointing fingers…nodding heads…and observing the new sign up…”sales office on the 2nd floor”…HMMMM…
The Sea Lord is putting on the finishing touches of its overhaul renovations…it’s a beauty…well done…and a great addition to El Mar’s beautification……
What’s with the “flossies”…(flossies are those plastic individual floss holders to floss your teeth)….suddenly like a trail of breadcrumbs…they seem to appear everywhere…on the sidewalks around town….Do people run around with them…or what?…Really weird….but better than cigarette butts…
Lots of people still scoping out the Pier restaurant…needing directions…it’s the other way now…new name…Diner By The Sea…although a new pier restaurant is in the works…we hear…
No wonder the Athena Boys want fair play for exiting their parking lot…
We had dinner last night at Aruba …and observed…while walking up El Mar Drive…the cars from Aruba valets…came out and went in the side alley…the just as usual…all the valeted patrons…stood in the middle of the parking lot…waiting for their cars…which like clockwork came from the alley…to face towards Commercial and a quick patron getaway…
With a new enclosed garbage area…there is no way..for a car to turn around within these parking confines…
Over the other way…the guys were right again…the night was not all that busy…but they were definitely blocked off more often than not…for entry and exit from their lot….
So with a restaurant coming…something needs to be done…
In this writer’s opinion…keep the alley open for Aruba…the alternative traffic back-up will be the bane of everyone’s existence…carrying over to public safety…and enforcement…and give the guys the same right to exit through the alley ….New Year and all?….
The lights were on and people were stocking the shelves in Wings…but for all hose pressing their faces to the new front door glass…lots of shrugs…it is just the same as their Galt store..previously posted…and is definitely more of the same as in the oldie but goody…established stores around Pelican Square…
What a missed opportunity….for the Wings Company…for the town and for the tourists…hoping and missing Mack Groves….perhaps they think they are “Walmart” ready to put the little guys out of business…don’t think so…..
What’s with the cone covering a standing pipe on Seagrape Drive…by Corsair?…And that $56 thousand dollar extension on the north end…it needs some revisiting…looks like a small piece of street…that needs asphalt…no drainage…and the extending piece north…sure looks like a private driveway on private property….with Palm Club asking for 2000 pieces of Public Record to bring legal action against the Town……this project allowed on what seems private property…should make for another request…and maybe give another precedent…ala Sunset Drive…for previous taxpayer funds used for private property…OOPS!…
No fan of the Manager…but this time listen to her…try having the owners move the flow of their downspouts away from the street…and fix the public road only…for a fraction of the road expense and so it won’t come back to bite us in the litigation to come….
Missing?…we need another doggy station or 2 at the far north end of El Mar…the 1st one is too far up the road…and more are coming north with their dogs since Minto’s medians are not dog friendly…..
more to come….
