FORGET THE STRAW POLLS….PUT OUT A NEWSPAPER STAND…
In the backup material for the 1/13/09 Commission meeting…for New Business item 16 e….concerning kite surfing…right after the incident of the warning given to kite riders on the beach…was the inclusion of a town wide inventory of news stands…( a sweep)…..
Readers will recall the hours spent in the past in this town on news stands…how they looked…who could have them and where they could be….
Seems they can be overlooked by the present administration if you have the right connections…
The Mc-Furth Times seems to get a pass in front of their BlueSeas/BTSTimes headquarters on El Mar…with a news stand holding their paper on the drive by the sidewalk…and again on the sidewalk in front of Ham and Eggs…
As they say…. “all is fair in love and war”….
Will the Away Inn come on board for the Futures along with other hospitality and commercial properties?…
Listen up Futures…buy the stand and you can put one out in front of my house on Washintonia…high traffic to the beach…I’ll keep it on my side of the sidewalk…for pedestrians to take one…
(I personally prefer a paper that does not accept “anonymous” ads)….
Anyone else in town want to do the same?…
Come on …pick your choice of paper…and then let the games begin…
Who will have the most new stands…easier than a straw poll….
and if a “code sweep” comes…along…that too will say a lot!…
