SWEEPING IT UNDER THE RUG?….
BCbythesea…hears that the “investigation” of the “investigator” has been put to rest….not even a slap on the wrist…no down time…for the Vice Mayor….he was front and center …with his buddy the VFD-Commissioner on all the VFD fire calls…..the whole time….the whole 5 & 1/2 days from the time the Manager read this site and the resignation letter posted ….until she left a memo for the Commission…yesterday….
What this says…welcome to Mc-LBTS…where the appearance of who is in charge in Town Hall…has just ratcheted up a notch or two!…
Not only is the Town Manager supposed to keep an eye on the VFD…she has been presented to the residents as all we require for competent oversight concerning the department…. she said so herself repeatedly…….from the dais…of course that is from her seat next to her Mc-buddy….
This writer has heard she spoke to Lt. Scot Fowler… he reported the truth of his resignation…nothing to do with the unions… as asserted by the Vice Mayor…on the dais…
….just a repeat of the “Jerry factor” for his sudden hike from the VFD and the Beach Patrol program that he was fully prepared and qualified to run….. incredibly ….we hear…she asked no questions…..also she has not taken the time to speak with the writer of the resignation letter…former Battalion Chief Patrick Pointu to address the many allegations…HMMM…
To this writer/resident…I expected more from the Town Manager…and would have expected a much more in-depth inquiry from any type of sole or committee oversight faced with such charges…being made… of…questionable paperwork… insubordination…and the reference to Vice Mayor McIntee being a Lieutenant…not a member-at-large…
As posted previously …McIntee called himself a “Training Officer” on the dais last Monday…caught on tape….how is he listed on the VFD roster?…(pre and post resignation letter fallout)…..According to those in the know…the VFD by-laws do not allow for an elected official to be an officer….which is in-line with the Florida Ethics Committee…also previously posted….If true….it is most certainly for the Manager…the Chief of the VFD and the Ethics Committee to question such a breach ….maybe Tallahassee is doing this right now?….
This is ultimately a continuation of the “blurry” lines between the Town and the VFD…the private non- profit corporation….covered in numerous previous posts…especially when it came to their roles…in the Sea Ranch Lakes bidding process…that fell apart in large part…because of this ongoing situation….
It seems to be a game of the Manager “dipping her toe in the water” here and there… where the VFD and the Town of LBTS are separate entities or intertwined….with her calling the shots….or not…
One reason this writer…. and ex-CIC member receives the constant wrath of the Mc-Gang…..and the Town Mc-Manager…is that the very same type of “behind the scenes maneuvering” that brought so much uneasiness concerning our previous Commissioner/Administration relationship ….is still going on….with different players…
“If it walks like a duck”….seems appropriate…especially with this latest mess…….
Again…any honest citizen…who has been around over the last few years ….watching then – Commissioner McIntee and his myriad of “investigations”…his “grandstanding” antics……..absolutely knows…if this had been BSO…it would not be over…5+ days out…no way……no how…
It would just be starting….he would just be starting….relentlessly…until everybody involved and the citizens of this Town were presented with a fully independent cohesive report going …”line by line”…”witness by witness”….and a plan to see that this would be an isolated incident…never to happen again in this Town….on the Town Manager/oversight authority’s watch….
