THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS FRIGHTFUL…..FOR FLORIDIANS…
We’re here in Chicago with the BCdaughter and Son-in law…enjoying the remainder of the holiday….with this writer bundling up with double layers of down jackets…scarf ..hat…double gloves and Uggs…http://www.uggaustralia.com/index.aspx ….listening to the well expected comments of having Florida blood after 15 years of residency……and various pointed remarks…about being padded to the hilt for the “elements”…which are a “balmy”…30+ degrees…before factoring the “chill factor”…the Lake Michigan gusts…and the light dusting of stray snow…here and there…
We took in a well-known historic Chicago steak house…Gene and Georgetti…http://www.geneandgeorgetti.com/…for New Year’s dinner…a throw-back where tradition still shows with where the waiters in their white shirts…well trained with assistants working in perfect choreographed concert…alongside them….
From the Hyde Park 34th floor abode we took in the Navy Pier New Years fireworks…wonderfully unbundled…and warm…no Uggs required… a socks and sweatshirt/pants only event…safely removed from “amatures” out and about on New Year’s Eve …
Traffic is flowing a little easier around these parts…as President -elect Obama is on vacation in Hawaii…leaving the neighborhood area and this building’s exercise room free and clear for from added security and frequent arrivals to work-out in the building…
Word in the paper today…the Obama family will go straight to Washington D.C….staying at the Hay Adams Hotel…http://www.hayadams.com/….starting this weekend..Sorry for those with reservations…that must have been displaced….who planned to actually stay at the hotel for his inauguration….The hotel didn’t use to have a workout room though…wonder where he’ll go?….

Substinance is found in foot- long double-meat and cheese…loaded subs…requiring double- time for walking them off…bundled…layered…enduring yet another round…of being the “tortured” with bad jokes… although …unknown to the jokesters…it’s easier to take…when muffled in a “double-down” cocoon….HA!…
