Quick response for AMR in LBTS does not just mean in an emergency….
Today a fellow resident of SRC…came to this writer a little “miffed”…that she needed be re-certified in CPR and made a call to AMR to find it would cost $45 per person… …
Taken aback she knew it was done in the past by BSO …….and she wanted to see why it was not carried over…
I said I would see what I could find out…and I did…sending an inquiry by e-mail attached to my follow-up request for public records to Chief Perkins…and making a call to Brooke Liddle of AMR….
Brooke was as he always is…fast on the response….and thorough…saying he would look into it and get back to me…1 hour later he called…and said he talked to the AMR Coordinator Maggie House and she had all sorts of ideas…and would call me….
Moments later she did…she explained the $45 charge was for “independent” people wanting CPR….but as a LBTS resident it could be done in similar fashion to what was organized in the past …further explaining her ideas about a few other informative programs she had in mind…which all sounded great!…
Maggie will now get in touch with the Town administration…to see when it could be put together………
I called my neighbor who was thrilled…..and I thanked her…for starting the ball rolling….. This community service that fell by the wayside in recent months…will make a speedy return…and the town residents will get to know AMR….as more than their EMS provider in emergencies only….
