6pm…1st pre- Commission meeting…
The Vice Mayor was as “prickly as a pear”…from the get-go at this…”bull-session” …as he put it…
Sitting back in his usual manner…he quickly moved into the microphone to object to Comm. Dodd having “agenda items”…
He (VM) was called about agenda items…and he (VM) “reviewed the tape” and there was to be no agenda items…so why did Comm. Dodd have agenda items?…WHEW!….
He did not stop there.. the Vice Mayor told Comm. Dodd that it looked like he (Dodd) was…”trying to upstage me…and I don’t need that.”…
Comm Dodd in his usual quick wit…responded in record time…”I would never try to upstage you…. Jerry.”…to which the Vice Mayor replied…”Good, or I’d be offended.”….
The Mayor tried along with Comm. Dodd to assure the Vice Mayor he had nothing to fear….
Not over yet…
More of his same brusque behavior was aimed at the Mayor…. when Comm. Clottey inadvertently pushed her button to speak and the Mayor inquired to whether buttons should be used…
The Vice Mayor admonished her (the Mayor)…for trying to direct the meeting….
A bumpy ride indeed….. get that man a de-caffeinated ice tea!….
