When You leave the LBTS- Welcome Center…Tourist must see the Pier Fishing Sign facing south……

From the north same thing….the Pier Fishing Sign needs to be seen by those who want to see the major focal point in this town…
BC- Just think if the Pier sign can be taken down…what’s next?….
Vigilante’s….come and go…but “landmarks” need to be preserved…..
Let your Commissioners know …keep the Pier Sign…as is…..just like the Welcome Center….Hands off…
Round 2 for “payback” any way you look at it for the Marchelos brothers…from Vice Mayor Mcintee came at the continuation meeting on 2/25/09…Item 15 a.- Old Business it was tabled from 1/28/09…the night the “Cockroach” story began….(previous posts scoops & agenda/meetings categories)…after the 1st round on McIntee’s most recent “salvo” to cause trouble…time and money for the brothers and the Town…for no good reason…any sane reason that is…
Some residents question often if Sunshine exits with the BFF-2-Hats for their “choreography” from the dais seems suspect in the timing…the round up and the toss are usually supplied by the sidekick Silverstone with the attempt to hit the ball out of the park by the VM…Today it was the “wondering” of Silverstone who has stated he likes to come “with an open mind” to the dais…wondering who owns the sign…and who can and cannot change it?…Eminent Domain for the Pier Sign?…
Wowser…that’s right Jimmy boy…let’s get the Town Attorney to do a search…Let the residents pick up the tab to see if the Town can claim it…just to “play” with the owners…After all the plastic is peeling and the numbers look crummy and it’s not as if it’s a 33 foot “Mom and Pop” motel so it’s expendable…sort of like the Chamber was…and the VFD was not…get it!…Selective landmarks of LBTS….selective preservation…
So with a 3-2 vote…Mayor Minnet and Comm. Dodd voting no…the 3 CIC members…voted to go ahead…spend the taxpayers money…and bring this one back again!….$$$$$$$….
No wonder the CIC is fading fast as an organization…as one former member …and their are an abundance of them…wrote the CIC after deciding not to re-up…The CIC is no longer a “watchdog” group it is a “lapdog” group……
This call by these 3 Commission members was a good example of that statement being so, so true!….Shame on you!….
The VM as is his M.O. tried to feign no personal animosity in bringing this item on the agenda……and that brought forth another round of snickers from the hall….”If it walks like a duck…quacks like a duck”….You all get the jest of it….lip service…nothing more than cover….
Unfortunately thanks to the “Majority” on the dais…more to come….
