WHO WILL CLIMB THE LADDER? ….
Dear Readers… We hear VFD Chief Perkins resigned from the Dept….. and it is being held close to the vest by the Dept. … or is it?…. Depends on where you are in Town and who is answering any inquiry…… We have heard for some time now there is much going on inside the VFD…(prev. posts)… so this was not so surprising…Now, we will see how and when the Town was/is informed…The Town’s input…or not….and if Deputy Chief Joe Padden takes the helm until the Dec./Jan. regular election…If not there are other names floating around…Administrator “GO-TO Guy” Danny Chavez…Fire Marshal-Inspector-Trainer Steve Paine… and perhaps a return of former Chief /former Comm. Jim Silverstone… Whomever is is…needs to be front and center soon as we approach the budget and make sure they fulfill the promises of the outgoing Chief on the medical calls…the operating expenses and the VFD equipment… The equipment evaluation will involve an independent appraiser per the Int. Town Manager at the June 8, 2010 budget workshop…They also need to be transparent and do some good P.R. work to assure the residents all is well as these changes are being made….
Besides who steps into the “Big Chief” spot ….we wonder….will the word “Volunteer” return on the VFD equipment it has been mysteriously missing from … (prev. post) ….and will Perkins still DJ the July 4th event?…

UPDATE: Chief Perkins has submitted a resignation letter effective July 1, 2010… The Town has been informed …
