FRIDAY SCAVENGER HUNT IN LBTS ….
KICKING OFF THE 1st LBTS “SCAVENGER HUNT” …. AT INTERIOR DIGS … (Back Row) Ken Brenner. Mayor Roseann Minnet, Diana Kugler, Christine Vincent, Marie Chiarello, Alana Brady …(Front Row ) Wayne Dillistin (with furry pal), Paige Vincent
HUNTING WAS SURE SWEET!….
We hear the first LBTS Scavenger Hunt was a big hit for the “regulars” as well as the tourists …. Kudos to the downtown businesses that participated ….and let’s hope it becomes an annual event!…
ON SECOND THOUGHT ….
We heard today that the Coral Reef project buoy would not be in the parade as it was intended to be by Marc Furth et al …Not sure if the Town Manager put the kibosh on it…Maybe it was a lack of insurance coverage… Perhaps it was taxpayer outrage ….or all three?… In any event…pun intended… it no longer sits out front of the Furth motel…It now sits on Town property with some familiar orange fencing around it (left over from the Mc-Furth 2009 fireworks on the beach?) …and it will be on display for anyone who wants to make a donation to cover the reported $15,000 dollar shortfall on this longtime project (4-5yrs in the making?)…
We also hear the taxpayer dollars for this project doesn’t mean the Town owns it and that’s why Furth could have it in his possession and in front of his motel!… Is that even possible? … This writer has to believe the Mayor, Vice Mayor and the new Commissioners will be all over this one …looking into the contract and backup along with the timeline and payouts…Other contracts on Colon led Town projects such as the Marine Park need a look-see as well …..This is really the ultimate “Do as I say” Colon situation ..when the Town under Town Manager Colon put Special Event applicants …..including downtown businesses …. the Chamber and the Mayor herself through the “ringer” only to find that this Mc-Furth project is still not up and running and we don’t even own it…WOW!… The mess left in the aftermath of the Colon Administration …just keeps getting bigger and bigger…in this writer’s opinion…..
