Here’s The Scoop …. Looking For Something To Rally The CIC … Their Chair Sends A Letter To The Commission …

THE CIC CLUBHOUSE (aka The Surf & Yacht Club on Palm Ave. in LBTS)…

Dear Readers … CIC-Chair Liliana Pomareda is at it again… You all remember her…She’s the same woman who instigated a situation during the election last winter out front of Athena By The Sea …it was taped and put on Youtube…(prev. posts)…She’s the same woman who contacted the Spanish press and declared racism in LBTS…. Last we heard she was selling her house…guess that hasn’t happened …so instead she’s trying to rally a dissipating organization that is going down for the count…partly due …we are told to their choice of her as the chair after the failed election of their candidates last March…

In her letter she has the nerve to complain about political agendas at 4th of July this year…Give me a break!..It was no different than any other pre-election July 4th event in any municipality including ours…when candidates come to walk in the parade…It’s a tradition in itself… She and the CIC were in the parade (see picture below)…and as a PAC the CIC is political with an agenda…so her rallying call falls flat on this one!… And as for the Halloween event this year..  Chair Pomareda states in the past 100% participation was the norm…Where was she living? …Firstly, talk about political agendas at Town events…last year was an all time low on making Halloween political…(prev. post on that event complete with CIC candidate/organization banners above the candy tables)… and second, the only volunteers (not those purchasing a table) who were not CIC or Furth pals volunteering were a mother/son duo… as we recall… Before that prior to 2008 … there was a genuine divide …with the opposing faction decorating  the hall and chairing the event while the Furths did the haunted house separately… It also appears that Chair Pomareda does not do her homework…or was having a Roseannadana moment as she makes the false statement that the residents would be paying for a professional staff person for overseeing the event…This Commission and this Administration made it clear it would be a staff member already employed by the Town overseeing the purchasing and the ledger in order to allow the Commissioner in charge of the event to oversee their event unencumbered by that responsibility and allowing the Town to avert any further fiascos drummed up by political organizations with political agendas as we saw in the past as well as to assure that all items bought and purchased by the Town are cataloged and accounted for to ensure future events such as Easter and Halloween are never again left with nothing to start out with!…OOPS!….

We are told, Chair Pomareda tried to cause a stir at the Halloween event this year by claiming the CIC was left off the volunteer list…She had to back down on that call to arms…before the call even went out…due to the fact they were in fact included and listed … as were all the participants ….This letter must have been all that she could come up with to make up for that one petering out… As for the last line of her letter .. “Somehow the campaign promises have not outpaced the rate at which the division in our Town is continuing to grow.”….continues to show just how out of touch the Chair and her CIC organization are when it comes to the the last 8 months of the new Commission/Administration …Perhaps it’s time to call Chair Pomareda out and shout “Show me the division in our Town!”… Especially since we have seen only witnessed one sorry treasurer come to the podium…. sadly incoherent and downright wrong with the comments he made during the budget hearing despite a call for more we are told…

3 strikes and you’re out, right? …Hmmm…Chair Pomareda…1-false charges of intimidation…2-false charges of racism and now 3-false claims of the Town being more divisive as it grows…

How about it folks…..any bidders for a house situated in the south end of town on a residential street sporting  a $50,000+ relatively new coat of blacktop courtesy of  Chair Pomareda’s  pals, the previous CIC supported majority ousted by a 65% landslide vote?…

THE LETTER …(a public record)…

“Dear Town Commission,
At the Halloween party tonight it was nice to see the Town actually come together without a political agenda and host an event for the residents. The children enjoyed all the candies and goodies provided. It was a far stretch from what the 4th of July Parade turned out to be. The 4th of July this year was not a small town parade as it usually was but a Political Parade filled with agendas. I encourage you to continue to keep our Town events fun for the residents and keep agendas out! Nice touch tonight to have a handout thanking the volunteers! The members of associations/volunteers do notice that and it is great to show attendees how we come together as a town.
It is sad however that we could not come together 100% as in the past for Halloween. As you recall for many years Halloween was a spectacular event in Town Hall which was ALL done by volunteers for so many years. Decorations, time, candy, event production, everything was volunteered. No political agenda, just love and dedication for the town and for the children.
I truly hope the Town Commission does not EVER think the residents should have to PAY a professional staff person to oversee the planning for town events such as Easter, the Fourth of July and Halloween. Correct me if I am wrong but for the few years I have lived here I do not think that has ever been done, other than off course for Fireworks which must be done by professionals. Let’s not BUY our way – spending local tax dollars. Lets pave the way as it has been done in the past bringing the town together.
Once again, it would be nice to see the Town come together and volunteer for all future events, encouraging ALL local organizations, businesses, residents to participate. Together it will make LBTS stronger. The kids enjoyed themselves tonight. However, I could not help but think how this year could have been as grand as it was for so many past years. Somehow the campaign promises have not outpaced the rate at which the division in our Town is continuing to grow.
Regards,
Liliana Pomareda,
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea”
