Regaling the ACTUAL “presence” found on June 6,2008…at the Ethics Commission hearing…
Clearly shows no “apologies”…no “love”….just McIntee “SPIN”…”playing fast and loose”….with the facts….
I know they hate this but here goes….
YIKES!….
Best part…the Vice Mayor….who spouts “loyalty”…”having someone’s back”….threw his “friend”…and fellow commissioner Stuart Dodd under the bus…..

‘ McIntee also tried to draw current Commissioner Stuart Dodd into the fray. One of the charges against McIntee for which the commission found probable cause was that he had a conflict of interest by serving as chairman of a local political action group the Citizen’s Initiative Committee, while he also served as commissioner. “I’m dumbfounded by that one,” McIntee said, pointing out that Dodd had succeeded him as chairman of the CIC and also ran for office while he held that position. “The commissioner that got elected (Dodd) was the CIC chairman, so by all rights you have to bring him up on charges too because he was in the same boat I was in.”
YIKES …YIKES…..YIKES…..
Commissioner Dodd was chairman of the CIC while he was running…yes….he wanted to step down ….(previous post….and in Dodd’s e-mail.)…but was “assured” by the Vice Mayor and others…there was no conflict….and pressured not to leave because many around him thought the M & Ms would “take over” the CIC….(another reading of the tea leaves…perhaps?….)
Commissioner Dodd was filling both roles for a matter of months after the January election……..again wanting to step aside….(in previous posts…in Dodd’s e-mail)…..but again was persuaded to wait until new elections occurred…. knowing no actions were forthcoming in that period of time….within the CIC….
So fast forward….to the e-mail …”the Train Wreck”…that ended with the Vice Mayor yelling from the back of the room with his “pal MacMillan….CIC- Citizen of the Year)….”YOU’RE WRONG”….”YOU’RE WRONG’….”YOU’RE WRONG”…..
INCREDIBLE!…..

McIntee and Silverstone were told to STOP!…. THEY DID NOT!…THEY “THUMBED THEIR NOSES”….at the Ethics Commission…..instead!

” Obviously they are not taking the advice of the commission,” said Kay Starling, Complaint Officer for the Ethics Commission, in an interview with this newspaper. ” What the commission said ‘ don’t do this again’ I can’t imagine that it would be any more clear than that. The commission said they were not going to take further action at that point, but for the betterment of everybody involved, just don’t do it anymore.” Starling added: “this report does not preclude somebody from filing another complaint or action against them.”
BCbythesea…LBTS-VFD….leadership…The Fire Chiefs….must save their department….and speak-up….for these 2 VFD/Commission members…to STAND DOWN….for the integrity of the Volunteers!….
Suggestion to Commissioner Silverstone….stop following the Vice Mayor’s lead….its GUARANTEED…to lead to some type of disaster!….a Train….or a Bus!…..
In conclusion…. Looks like Commissioner Stuart Dodd deserves an apology from ….

CIC Chair Crisite Furth….
CIC Vice Chair Maureen McIntee….
And the executive CIC Board…..
for wanting to do the right thing after all…..

Dear Commissioner Dodd….
Please accept my apologies for being one of the first to “beg” you to stay on as Chair of the CIC to assure that the CIC would not be taken over by the M & M’s….during the election….for being one of those who….. at that time ….. “blindly believed” the Vice Mayor’s assertions of no conflict of interest.
