Here’s The Scoop … High Five … To The LBTS- BSO

OUTSTANDING POLICE WORK IN LBTS …

Dear Readers… We heard today there was some great police work done on the beach in capturing a suspect … I sent a Public Request in to Chief Llerena to check it out and received an e-mail rely…this is a portion reply backĀ  from the Chief…

Hi Barbara.

There were two incidents we know about over the past week or so, a burglary to an occupied condo and the felony theft of a beach bag. A witness was able to give us a description. Lt. Cedeno and Sergeant Brown were patrolling the beach looking for the suspect and found him and took him into custody after he tried to run away and hide.

We are still sifting through everything now and interrogating the suspect, so I will give you more information when everything settles.”

…………………

We heard the apprehension could not have been scripted better … and it came from eyes on the ground…all around this town from BSO…especially the Chief and the Lt. and some really super BSO Deputies who over the last 2 years have continued to make their presence in town known to the bad guys and the taxpayers with quick responses … and some heroic deeds…

I also asked the Chief about the increase in drug and disorderly related incidents we have seen that appear to be stepped up from the norm…

Again his reply in the same -mail…

“We have a two deputy SET team which has been focusing on narcotics related investigations as a result of an increase in prescription drug abuse in the area. Lt. Cedeno has all the stats for their recent arrests.”

………………………..

The stats response from the Lt. will be posted when received….as well as further info on the arrest today….

We also hear the BSO is working on the burglary at a former elected official’s residence last week and has some good leads… We were told it was not something that should warrant any concern to other residences at this time… BUT…if anyone sees anything suspicious in their own neighborhood … do not hesitate or think you might be wrong …call 911!…

more to come….
