Dear Readers…Hurray for Hollywood …Their Commission gave “kudos” to the Charter Review Committee for actually offering up a list of stringent ethics reforms ……
Could it be because they were looking into “Specific Ethics”…and not ” Pacific Ethnics”… Hmmmm………
And to think …. Mayor Minnet and Comm. Dodd were only asking that Commissioners abstain in voting on any item of business that the Commissioner is “affiliated” with… paid or unpaid, thus producing no possible conflict of interest!…YIKES!…

‘Hollywood could enact strict ethics reforms The city of Hollywood’s charter review committee presented a list of ethics reforms to City Commissioners today. Commissioners didn’t discuss the proposal indepth but gave kudos to the committee and they expect to discuss it in detail at a January workshop. Included in the proposal: * Requiring commissioners to declare conflicts and leave the room even if the item isn’t up for a vote. Conflict forms would be posted on the city’s website and a bulletin board at City Hall. * Eight-year term limits for commissioners * Commissioners could oust a peer if they violate the charter * Form a Fair Campaign Practices Board to develop a code of conduct for candidates * Limit contributions to political committees to $500’
