Dear  Readers …according to the Sentinel…you are facing high tides from the moon’s effect and cool climes …From the calendar of events …you are privy to the return of the Performing Arts Plays … happening now…The Interior Digs November events… as well as the St. Lawrence Gallery events… Saturday morning …if you are game …join the “regulars” and come to November LBTS Chamber of Commerce Beach Clean-up at the Commerical Blvd. Beach Pavilion at 9 am…(gloves/bags provided)…The Commission meets next Tuesday evening Nov. 9th for their monthly Comm. Mtg at 7pm in Jarvis Hall… (backup will be on the Town’s website later today…and posted over the weekend with commentary this weekend) …

Update-The Commission/Administration have set up a special meeting Mon. November 15th …( set at  5:00 pm we are told..to accommodate VM Dodd’s Hillsboro commitment …with workshop to follow) …They will discuss the priorities they need to deal with at this juncture of their term….The Master Plan Steering Committee meets for another round of the Master Plan revisions with Town Manager Connie Hoffman Tues. Nov. 16th at 7pm in Jarvis Hall…( backup will be posted on the Town’s website the Friday afternoon before…and posted with commentary on this site over that following weekend as well)…

Update-Planning and Zoning will meet Tues. Nov. 17th at 6:30 pm in Jarvis Hall (backup is now on Town’s website …and posted over that weekend with commentary on this site).. The P&Z will be addressing the parking requirements in town especially for the businesses and also re-visit the signage issue …Those businesses who want to have their say should make it their business  … (pun intended) …to be at that P & Z meeting where public comments are allowed…The board will be going through the codes/ ordinances  and make recommendations to the Commission/Administration… Do we want pole signs included in the vision of the Town or not?…Right now the ordinance status quo for the future is NOT!… What’s the view of businesses/residents now? …Should we retain a small town village feel and allow them …or follow some other municipalities and ban them for new businesses or any “grandfathered” signs of this type that are over 50% destroyed or wanting to be replaced?… Same for parking requirements and new business in town… Please folks…no lame letters after all is said  and done feigning outrage if you were MIA in the process … (ala the CIC’s M.O.)…. LBTS-BSO Sgt. Doug Brown Retirement Party  open to all at Village Grill Nov. 19th from 7 pm…..The Commission meets for their Roundtable on Mon. Nov. 22nd in Jarvis Hall at 7 pm to get their 2nd meeting in before Thanksgiving that following Thursday…

Also happening in Jarvis Hall for those who want to partake in more activities…Mon. morning Nov. 9th…the Garden Club… as well as the usual Community Center classes held regularly…(that schedule is available in the Town Topics/ By The Sea Future each month/ at Jarvis & Town Hall)… Town /Jarvis Hall is closed Thursday for Veteran’s Day observance…and again the following Thursday & Friday for Thanksgiving…

Last but certainly not least …weather cooperating…the LBTS weekly Friday and Saturday night outdoor music nights downtown…from Village Grill and Athena By The Sea…

Speaking of Thanksgiving…this writer will be coming home to LBTS for the first time in 8 long months …but definitely not the last..as we have scheduled to come home every month from hereon out…Can’t wait to walk on El Mar Drive and head downtown to the square.. to the Pier…the beach…and west on Commercial Blvd….. stopping at the usual stops to see what’s what … say hello …catch up ….and enjoy all that LBTS has to offer and what I have missed so very much…

Bundle up…it’s gonna be cold out there….hats required? …
