Here’s The Scoop … Clueless Clottey Strikes again … In Print …

IGUANAS BIDING THEIR TIME….

Dear Readers…Looks like Commissioner Clottey is”Clueless” once more..only this time it’s in print!… In 2008 she went after the iguanas from the dais……and was met with a split in her constituency on doing so… The agenda item went the way of so many directives to the Town Manager…nowhere!.. It was brought back by Clottey a few times for updates …and last time we hear way back when…it was stagnant…in trial…No updates were presented by Comm. Clottey or the Town staff in the backup material or at the podium…But today in the Sentinel Comm. Clottey is on the record saying it worked out real well for us…..Hmmm…. Did it?… After that…. a further insertion of foot in mouth…Comm. Clottey says her neighbors will be happy with the cold weather keeping the new ones away!… Well, the cold weather is sure keeping the business away…So in the real world …most would take a few iguanas over the lack of patrons!… Argh…

Of note…after the approval of the trapper…besides no update on the program…new articles appeared in the very same Sentinel with an alternative to a trapper.. and sold at LBTS’ own Beach Hardware…

There was no inclusion for anymore funds to continue on the eradication program… This writer has made a public records request for the information on the Clottey Iguana Eradication Program to date to see just how well it really worked out over the past 2 years!

Sentinel- 1/5/10….

“Lauderdale-by-the-Sea commissioners approved $5,000 in October 2008 for a trapper to eradicate the foliage eaters there.

“That worked out real well, but new ones came back,” said Commissioner Birute Ann Clottey. “One homeowner had 28 iguanas taken from her yard.”

Clottey said it will be nice if the cold weather saves the town some money.

“A lot of my neighbors will be happy,” Clottey said.”
