Here’s The Scoop

THE UPS AND DOWNS OF A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY…..

Noon …Today…….at Minto Park…

Oh…yes…El Prado Park…brought to you by Minto….

Red Carpet…..gold thick ribbon ….podium…. with microphone……and blue painter’s tape to keep the residents from getting in and out of the beach…behind….

Minto big- wigs….local papers…local photographers…including the official Town photographer…Administrators…staff….Commissioners…(minus 1)….the Town Chaplain…a few residents and some beach- goers…waiting for the blue tape to be removed………

Complete with the Minto name on the water bottles…the Minto name on the handles of the shovels …that were used for “some propaganda”…said Harry Posner…the Minto Head- Honcho…due to the lack of rain…and the Commissioners’ presence …for a little extra “groundbreaking” PR……..

July 1st will be the groundbreaking date for building C…the oceanfront property to the south of the newly open-to- the-public El Prado Park….

Note: Mr Posner said this new development is the only one going up this year on the coast here and in Miami…

The Town Chaplain…back home…. was not formally asked by the Town to do the invocation…sorry to say…an oversight…on their part….offered his services…which are a usual part of any such “grand” ribbon cutting ceremony such as this….the Minto Representative came to the Rev. and asked him to join in……. the right thing to do…

unfortunately…it was not to be…why?…BCbythesea hears…the Vice Mayor was asked and said it was not necessary…HUH?….. bad move….

The invocation might have done a lot of good…not just for the correctness of involving the Town Chaplain…but perhaps the Rev. might have included the names of the Commissioners…therefor…making it possible for the Mr. Posner to pronounce Mayor Minnet and Commissioner Clottey’s names correctly…

He might have also saved Mr Posner from be confused on just which Commissioner was absent…further saving him any embarrassment… oh well……….

on to…. the photo -ops……. the ribbon cutting….the “pretend groundbreaking”….more photos…. the blue painter tape being removed…the beach-goers heading back to the beach…the red carpet was rolled up….the Minto water bottles… shovels……cut ribbon and podium….were carried off….and a luncheon that followed at the “hurricane proof”…Minto sales office next to the park on the beach….

Next up… for the Park………the July 4th festivities…

and $91 thousand dollars in revenue from the open El Prado parking lot this year!….
