Nope not LBTS Commissioners….
Hillsboro commissioners…a town of 3ooo….
They get it….they get the perception of their actions……
Our LBTS Commissioners ….do not…….
I have been told there is never a “good time” for a pay raise….
that may be true….but there is certainly a better time….better timing….the perception…
the campaign promises…still so fresh in our resident’s memory….
I am personally torn…. because I too made promises….to many around… that this commission would hear the people, work for the people and be fiscally and frugally adept..
torn because as stated before it just looks bad….
the cell phone allowance…followed by the insurance….now tomorrow night ….
compensation to the elected officials and employees who pass on the insurance….
one caveat…to this next move….
if it is a “deal” that actually saves the town money…by offering a percentage of the cost of the town’s insurance to those who forgo the insurance coverage offerded…good move…
if it is the full amount….not good…at approx. $5000 each recipient….. a year
word around here….
put the brakes on….until after….
the budget….the election in November…the reveal of town funds…town staff being in place…with all positions filled….including a grant writer…
the excess revenue final report….the final capital improvement costs for Seagrape…sewers…pavilion…
AMR is in place…
the VFD is up and running after doing what is required to protect the town…
Table the perks…make headlines….LBTS commissioners….
