Who is writing the Mayors material?
Could someone please inform the Mayor how to pronounce Comm. Clotteys last name please…..it is Clottey…not CO-lottey….easy enough to pronounce.
Alert….Just who on the commission is going to address the Mayor thinking she is above the others on the dais…”representing” the commission and the town at Tallahassee function and the like…it should be presented on the dais and a decision should be made who will go where ahead of time.
Comm. Clottey … Brief due to the hour…beware of rumors…find out the facts….hold on and wait…thanked Chief Gooding for BSO tour/ Chamber for Craft Fair…..Washingtonia changes…duty to find solution… least impact on residents…”Minto” parking lot should be open…at least for cars to use as pass through …is hurting businesses.

request that streets be names in agenda header for public …public be informed ahead of time…stakes be put out for visual ….request one side of Washingtonia only…south side…no trees removed…simple sidewalk 1st choice…2nd choice least landscape footage… final approval one side..as Walter Keller drawing shows…removal of north side sidewalk from plans…accommodate parking for west side resident corner of Seagrape /Washingtonia….
Residents came up to speak…including this writer…all were for 1 side of the road…suggested referendum for future sidewalks needed….the need for alternatives given to commission BEFORE drawing up plans….public input….thanks to staff and commissioner who helped to address the problem.
Alert: This was another example of what brings neighbors together…before the vote all those in attendance agreed with a plan for the least impact to the neighborhood… no matter the constant interference from a certain resident who has made this the second such project she has injected herself into without regard for those who are involved and will be affected by the results of the project.
Again, a referendum is called for so this same person or others cannot inflict her adverse actions for a third time!
Thanks to the commissioners…but the job is not done…. the suggestions for the next project need to be written policy…a request for the soon to be ex- Town Planners billings…change orders etc… for this project must be made…and Washingtonia should not be started until Seagrape is finished!
c….legal fees incurred by dismissal of Board member…Comm. Dodd
This writer and Julio Omana were P&Z Board members accused of Sunshine Violation… and a SLAPP suit….since dropped…had no merit… were summarily voted off the Board by the old Commission without cause…under the “serve at the pleasure of the commission” ploy.
We were both at separate times on separate phone calls with the soon to be ex-Town attorney….who told us separately and independently that the town would not be defending us. He told us separately and independently it was our problem. He told us separately and independently that we better get representation before a date certain which would find us in trouble with the court. This was represented by the Attorney hired by Mr Omana and me last night at the podium.
The atty. was hired to represent us both…Comm. McIntee got involved and ex-Town Manager Baldwin informed him of an insurance policy the town might have to cover Board members.
It was a phone call from the League of Cities that informed me of them being contacted and their representation being available to us.
The Mayor was also not forthcoming if she had such knowledge to me or the P&Z Board when this very subject was addressed at a P&Z meeting by another member before we were thrown off.
This only re-enforces the reasons I had that she was not suitable for the Mayoral position, being accurate.

k….nominate “Honorary” President to Sister Cities…Mayor Minnet
Dr. Most came forward to ask this be continued as in the past with a member of the commission…asked for Mayor Minnet..Comm. Clottey in discussions said she felt this an inappropriate position for the commission to take…asking about an “Honorary” President for Garden Club etc…as this would set a precedent …did not proceed.
Alert: this “Honorary” role would be a indicator of guaranteeing further taxpayer funds to go the th the league as in the past…a review of their annual report…in previous post….shows it was used to wine and dine visitors from our sister city.
This organization should only be funded by volunteered donations.
l….beach access for residents in NW section of LBTS…Comm. Clottey…
research for what type of access is available…Assist. to Town Manager…referred to a 1981 beach re-nourishment Army Corp of Engineers map showing 6 access points in Pompano Beach and 2 in LBTS. ….utility access does not give public access…condos responded negatively to sharing access voluntarily with LBTS neighbors across A1A….eminent domain brought up….platt drawings …property searches…to see if we can open access for our west of A1A residents.
Rest of Agenda to be addressed at next commission meeting Tues. 3/25/08 7 pm
