Dear Readers…last day in Virginia…and the BCbythesea family pulled a fast one on this writer… last night….they hit the Mc-“slap” site….to see what all the fuss was about with the inquiries…or the assertions of a few well intentioned readers who would “alert” me to something they read on it… to say that their submissions of positive BC posts never make it on…and their decision of never going back…along with their faithful daily…sometime multiple-times daily reading of this site…

With my eye half looking… it was read out loud…we laughed, we winced at the bad grammar and we could easily figure out who posting…the same Mc-gang…. with a series of bad writing……. “slap” meltdowns…because the”jig” is up on the unraveling Mc-world …

They really must be running scared……this writer found nothing new or different than their other avenues …the Topix…and the Mc-Furth Times…before and after the recent hand- off to headquarters on EL Mar Drive…….along with the almost verbatim from the “2 hats” on the dais …(nice to know what your elected officials do in their spare time)….and the Mc-wife out from behind the “staff writer”/slap poster/Topix participant……as we have seen her in action at the podium and in well known public diatribes towards others with angry phone calls…and in Jarvis Hall…all we thought of was the Margaret Hamilton character in the Wizard Of Oz…

Their campaign version…again more of the same….although we noticed …left out the real reason Marc Furth  did not want to run for Mayor……the catalyst for the separation period of time…. where Jerry McIntee was not allowed in the Furth home and the homes of the Dodds and this writer…..along with the then- Commissioner and wife’s secret of hypocricy from the dais…do as I say…not as we have done…although he did try to rectify after the fact once….when confronted by both this writer and the Furths….a big HMMMMM…on both and mums the word ….for now…guess the “insider” was not so “inside” after all or chose to omit for self preservation?….

Again, readers and friends…thanks for all the well-intentioned concern…but their site is really is no different than what I experienced from the day when I stood up against the Mc-Furths…and what is written over there …seen on and off the dais…only backs up the Sausage Series…..any questions …ask the newly elected Commissioners…and check out the posts since January…in fact…soon there will be big changes …..for the BCbythesea site..thanks to the ever increasing stats…as for a return visit to the Mc-“slap”site…nope..been there… done that…and once was enough ….

Although I must admit…. it really did tie in exceedingly well for the BCbythesea family here in Williamsburg Virginia…watching all the Revolutionary politics of the past…the bloviating politicians…their dirty deeds…and of course the nightly farce….

Time has come for the VFD and the Town to get on board…find alternatives to the status quo…a Citizens Oversight …and the real possibility of a Fire Chief that is independent of the department and allowed under the 2004-16 Ordinance for the Town Manager to enact…along with answering to public requests that are required…Hipaa…which is required……and having outside help for following the required protocol …required By-laws and SOPs that are not being adhered to a the present time…….

IN WRITTEN FORM

Dear Readers BCbythesea and family have put in writing an e-mail of our wishes that the VFD is not to be allowed in our home for AMR medical calls and who may not be privy to our medical information.

What the VFD/AMR and Town will do to respond to this writer and others who are asking for the same wishes to be respected and adhered to remains to be seen.

The written request may be enough, or a form may be enacted, the ball is in their court… pun intended..

Thanks to an astute reader, and much discussion within our family after the latest 4 disturbing events …the Vice Mayor speaking from the dais about a gentleman in the north end at the last Commission meeting…. his entrance into a residents living room…with AMR and remaining afterwards despite no need for his assistance… hearsay…. but scary, if accurate….the Chief’s assertions that he has given the Vice Mayor special duty to respond by the Vice Mayor’s private car to all medical/ fire calls in the north end up to Sea Ranch without coming into the fire station first, thus providing the certain probability he will arrive on scene before AMR, as he has boldly asserted has in fact been the case from the dais for numerous emergency calls, and the reader’s points about the Commissioners sitting in the AMR Medical Review Board and having private medical information divulged, we decided this was a necessary request.

At the last Commission meeting Commissioner Clottey in discussing the VFD monthly report advised the Chief he did not need to use the VFD member’s names…and that was just for response calls…

Also Chief Perkins made it clear to this writer he could not give me any medical information on members…although I made it known, I was not asking for that information, just that the medical exams were done, and all that was required was administered.

Add to this the first VFD report that did include addresses, and descriptions of the medical condition of the residents involved. Making it possible for anyone to look up from the address who the patient was. A definite Hipaa problem for the VFD who are required to observe Hipaa law.

This writer believes the AMR report content should be enacted for the next monthly report by the VFD to protect the residents. I also believe that despite the assertions from the VFD on the dais, a need for the VFD trucks to follow AMR are unnecessary, especially when condos are involved, no need to knock down doors when guards have keys available.

In this regard, AMR should be asked on the record for the need to have the VFD follow them on medical calls. Again, this writer has been told by informed persons that BSO followed their EMS to provide that 3rd Paramedic/EMS personnel not on their ambulance. We were told one of the benefits of th new AMR service would be 3 on board at all times. Also, rather than thrown out statistics, what are the real stats for firefighters required to perform forced entry on medical calls?…

DAY 2…CRISP WEATHER…QUALITY …QUALITY…QUALITY…FIRST RATE…

From the moment we wake up…have breakfast…taking in the splendor of the Inn…interiors and exteriors…all is a wonder…all is fine tuned…all is as accommodating as anyone can ask for…and more….

A morning walk …to see the homes..off the main road…the sheep ..a half dozen busy trimming the neighbors back lawn…and a stroll up a long driveway to the Williamsburg home of John D and Abby Rockefeller…and a tour…Rockefeller decided to help restore Williamsburg…but only if those asking made sure no one knew…which did not last for long …he ended up very much involved…eventually making this his home for some weeks in the summer and fall…adding onto the house…and so much more that he ended up contributing $68 million dollars ….http://www.history.org/almanack/places/hb/hbbass.cfm

The Lanthorn Tour…a wonderful hour…to follow a guide with a group after hours and visit local businesses…see what went into their professions…the wig maker…the silversmith….the bookbinder and the printer…the wigmaker…used animal and human hair…women had a choice…shave your head …and be able to sleep in a bed at night …or add hair to your own and sleep in a chair!…..The silversmith…provided ways to secure your money…a safe alternative to coins…for silver was monetary by weight…and a spoon with a stamp…made it easier to retrieve if stolen….the bookbinder was poorly paid…and made money on the side…selling used books…sermons…and such…the red dye..used for the books…the hair…and in lipstick today…came from red beetles!…the printer…made the paper out of ….underwear…cloth underwear…pummeled until it turned into lint…then put in water…and strained until it became paper…used for all 3 papers of the day…all called the Virginia Gazette…(HMMMM…BYTHE SEA)…..of real interest from the tour guide…some homes are private …inquiring about who lives in them she said they are employees…and she had lived in one for 11 years…they are set up with wi-fi and cable… there are 50 who have the chance out of 2660 employees…and then went on to say she had started here in 1964…and had many jobs throughout her employment….http://www.history.org/visit/eventsAndExhibits/calendar/index.cfm?id=273088&startAt

The Ghost Tour…really topped off the day…another “lifer”…tour guide who said she has worked here since she was 10!…3 stories …told by actors…of haunting ghosts the Wythe House….in the main house…the death of the wife of the owner after finding her husband with her sister…a struggle …that led to her falling down the main stairs to her death…the sister…who told the story…then married the straying husband…but joined her late sister in meeting the same stairway fall…sometime later…another story…in the another area…about a preacher righting the murder of a young woman…and giving her a final resting place after her murderer was hung……and the final ghost tale…a mother’s grief with the loss of her only child …a girl who rather than marry at age 16…found her way aboard a ship…posing as a man…only to be found out…and when the shipmates declared her a curse…threw her overboard to her death…she came back to find her mother…and show her the way…to meet her maker...http://www.williamsburgprivatetours.com/ghost.htm

A PETITION TO KEEP MCINTEE OUT OF MY HOME…

BCbythesea…had a call a few days back…seems a resident was very upset to see the bloviating “2 hats” Vice Mayor…describing the scene of a north end neighbor …his 911 call for help and the VFDs’ use of 12 firefighters to put the very heavy man back into bed!…Oh the Vice Mayor did go on to say how great the firefighters felt to help out …and the resident called with gratitude….BUT…did this resident know…the VFD Training Officer would then bloviate the emergency from the dais…for all to hear?….Would this individual continue to feel such gratitude?…Most think not!…

The Vice Mayor certainly violated Hipaa as well as using this man’s private incident for his own grandstanding…WOW!…

After that this writer has heard from a few…that the Vice Mayor showed up with AMR to a 911 call…again in the north end of town…and proceeded to stay in this residents living room..although he was not needed in any capacity…and would not be of any help for her care…she was uncomfortable that he was there…

So now, a petition..is said to be in the works…residents who do not want the Vice Mayor in their home…on their property…for any medical calls…and do not want him or any Commissioner to sit in at the newly formed AMR Medical Review Board…to have any private details of anything that the resident would not want known…

BCbythesea…is in full agreement…and thinks the Medical Review Board idea needs to be rethought out…to keep Commissioners  informed without name or address…even those who serve as both Commissioner and VFD…if not…a big problem will be forthcoming for AMR….

This is the problem we have with “2 hats” and a grandstanding Vice Mayor…incapable of being discreet and trustworthy…in this writer’s opinion…

Right now…if you are against both the Vice Mayor or any other VFD  not on the AMR truck…in your home for a medical call…you do have the right to let the VFD and AMR know…call them and make sure they are aware of your decision.

The only reason for the Vice Mayor or any VFD to be in your home for a medical call is if AMR requires that help…for some reason…and for the Vice Mayor to install himself without that reason…is unacceptable to many..including this resident…who intends to call and state …No McIntee in my home…ever….

This writer hears the Beach Patrol times can be checked out with meters that are on each ATV to see how much time was used…along with sign in sheets…many are still concerned over the limited times stated for use in Oct. along with the lack of 1st rate responders on the vehicles…

It is also reported that an EKG is required to be done in the VFD medical exams clearing the FF for duty……being told first hand by a certain FF a few summers back…of a history of heart problems that exist with the possibility of being on heart medication…and the recent heath emergency of the VFD driver it is said…was a known previous condition…….along with the recent heath problems that were the impetus for immediate commission health insurance for the commissioners upon their election…and the Chief informing this writer of some medical problems with the “old guys…high blood pressure…for both of the above mentioned FFs…..is the EKG being administered by the in-house doctor…or produced by the doctor of choice for those who have the exam privately?…

Of course any public requests will be met with “attacks or witch hunts”..by the Vice Mayor…no doubt…

NO HAYRIDES…THIS CHRISTMAS…..

‘If you can’t make it downtown, stop by Lauderdale-by-the-Sea’s annual “Christmas By The Sea” from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Set up on the town’s beach at the end of Commercial Boulevard, this annual family friendly event features local carolers, hayrides, a Santa village and the ceremonial lighting of the town’s tree. While it may not offer several tons of shaved ice, this is one event that will have you feeling like you’ve arrived somewhere else. And of course, admission is free.’

Somebody didn’t get the message…LBTS Christmas-By-The-Sea…is not to be…just a simple tree lighting at 7pm on  Dec.2nd..

Thanksgiving in Williamsburg…2008…

Order In The Court…a re-enactment of an 18th- century trial…where the decorum was in the forefront…order was maintained…those who came for help were treated to true representation…those needing reassurance of an ongoing problem were offered common sense along with common courtesy…and the woman who came once again as she had so many times prior was listened to …imagine that!….

A Conversation with Patrick Henry…answering the historic questions…on slaves…Indians…and taxes…from a man here from New York…who said he was a descendant of Mr Henry’s…no revisionist history here..no equal PC time…the straight talk…with a purpose…to see the real history is not swept away…along with amusing looks at what has happened since…

A Public Audience with George…in the Capitol west yard…lots more talk on tea and taxes…surrounded by the young …happily wearing their period costumes…boys holding wooden guns…girls…with their American Girls collectible dolls…actually interested…in something that is not electronic…for a change….

A visit up and down the streets…the blacksmith…the printer…the milliner…the apothecary shop…the barber…the grocery…and on and on…

Thanksgiving will be at the Kings Arms….for a traditional fare….

Followed up by evening theater..to see ‘Wit’s Last stake”…a classic 18th-century farce…

Faithful readers…back to the scuttle… the local papers…1 or 2 or 3?…..tomorrow… day 2…in Williamsburg…

You all took on your elected positions…to sit up there and listen to those who come in front of you…the voters…your constituents … non-residents…the backers…the naysayers…and the professionals who represent them…..it’s not a kangaroo court where you can arbitrarily make up your own rules…spew out derogatory remarks…belittle those in front of you on their profession…their education…their actions…while thumbing your nose at the rules…propriety…rational judgment….and dais decorum…

Who did you replace and why…remember?…

You all told your “stories” over the last 2 elections…of wanting to make a change…not liking what you saw up there …well Commissioners…many of you have made a change…that’s for sure…you surpassed the ones you despised …what a waste!…

To wave your hands and devalue someone… their 30 years of experience…to wave your hands and tell anyone in front of you…”I don’t want to hear from you”…I am deeply…regrettably saddened!..

I was a backer…who stood behind many of you…took the “slapp”, ( before the Mc-slap” site…big -time PR mistake…)…was subjected to the incomprehensible disregard for us…. as private taxpaying citizens…banding together …to make a difference… we said it would happen no more…not when the majority changed…you were all there to reassure those who stood beside you…worked hard for your success…you would never treat others in such a manner..as you yourself who did not like being easily dismissed..and treated with such disrespect…what happened?…

The Mc-Gang happened……that’s what…to join in their blinded, insulated paranoia…the “us against them”…our way…or nothing……damn the ethics…..payback for those who ever dare to differ…threaten…bully…and try to destroy…the shrinking CIC…the revisionist history…denigrate those with a sense of fair play for all…..those who believe in right and wrong…..when you took your elected positions…you all knew you would need to provide answers …while keeping yourself in check…did you not?….

Take this time … this Thanksgiving…to decide…how you want to return to the dais on Monday…I am hoping it is to make amends…to those who came before you last night……those who supported you in your political endeavor…..and those who still believe in good government……right there up on the dais…in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea….
