BCbythesea hears AMR Lt. Brooke Liddle has been in town all day training the VFD with use of the AutoPulse…which will also be on each VFD-ATV…along with AMR stretchers that will offer transport to the ambulances without the extra switch required to a stretcher for the ride….

He will be on top of everything that happens…wanting to prove the town was correct in going with his team…

Unfortunately being new in town…he probably did not know there is already a jaundiced eye cast upon AMR for having “alumni”-VFD as AMR-EMT Drivers on the in-town ambulance per Rev. Jim’s BTSTimes Feature article….previous posts…

BCbythesea hear the two AMR  backup trucks stationed over the bridge will have what the residents “expected” EMT-Fire Fighters…who are not VFD…as promised before the commission….

As promised, below are the details for the neighborhood walk this Saturday…
When: Saturday, October 4th from 9:45 AM-12:30 PM

Where: We will be meeting at the Einstein Bagels in Ft. Lauderdale (3200 N. Federal Hwy-located on the corner of Oakland Park Blvd and N. Federal Hwy in the Coral Ridge Mall shopping plaza).

We will gather for a cup of coffee at 9:45 AM and depart for our walk at 10:00 AM.

Monday Evening…9/29/08…

APPEARANCES…once again…

Vice Mayor McIntee is parked in front of the “official Town Business” sign at Town Hall by the fire station…HMMM….no commission official business…VFD business…yes this is training night…but he supposed to be a “member- at large”…LOOKS BAD….

The VFD were training in the El Prado Parking lot spraying water from multiple trucks… ladders….and hoses…over Minto’s construction site on the west side of the street….on this last night before the change over…

The sidewalk on El Mar from the El Prado lot …west side of the street….going south are in…nice…wide and walkable…

On the walk home…east side of El Mar…huge new drains are in…and the standing water was finlly tamed…YEAH!…

ALERT…. 10/1/08…. 12 MIDNIGHT….THE TOWN WILL BE VFD/AMR PROTECTED….

AMR….EMT….VFD…

It was quite something at the 9/25/08 Commission meeting when the Manager made it abundantly clear that the contract between the Town and AMR does not allow for the AMR fire fighter in the ambulance to assist the VFD at the scene…at any time…

No wonder Commissioner Silverstone and Chief Perkins assumed it would be allowed….after reading the BTSTimes article in the 9/26/08 edition…by Rev Jim Pollock….FEATURES…pg 12 & 14…”Rest Assured with AMR’s Emergency Medical Services”…which states that the firefighter EMT/Drivers will be VFD members including Rev. Jim…….

Never do I remember them saying with all the talk of AMR providing more than BSO by way of 2 paramedics and 1 EMT on board the in-town ambulance…that it would be a VFD- EMT member…

This writer along with countless others assumed it was AMR personnel who possessed their FF1 or 2 status…

This still needs to be answered… why if they are VFD members on board….they would not be allowed to assist…and why we were not informed that the 3rd person on the truck…would be a VFD- EMT Driver…

JEFF BOWMAN IS THE NEW DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

After a month …as acting Director…Jeff has now stepped into the position…permanently…

He will have a lot on his plate this new budget year…with ordinances being addressed…to conform with the times…codes being tweaked…for right of ways..swales…and 3 over 1…currently not allowed…

This writer called Jeff to inquire…if a resident or developer came in today to the development office…would they be allowed to build 3 over 1 anywhere in town…he said “no”…

The voters did vote for 3 over 1…..and many residents feel the repeal of the Overlay Districts should have applied to the setbacks but not to the 3 over 1 decision….this will be a “Hot Potato” for the dais to deal with ….

Jeff also answered the question of the variance Wings is asking for with their signage…previous Public Notices post…it is for a large sign above their front door and a large sign between the 2nd and 3rd floor facing north…currently no signage is allowed not in front of an establishment..

In an article in BTSTimes by Rev Jim Pollock…page 12& 14……he is now an AMR employed EMT/Driver…”that is why your three EMT /DRIVERS are from the LBTS VFD.”…

Good for the finding of the destination…but will this open up a can of worms with the cross-over…of VFD/AMR…guess we will see in the next Future’s edition….

Why is this allowable…but the AMR Fire Fighter is not allowed to assist the VFD…per the Town Manager at the 9/25/08 commission meeting?…

WHO ARE THE “SLAPPERS”…..

Too close for coincidence in this writer’s view to have godaddy.com…the host for both the CIC website and the BTSTimes advertised slapbcbythesea…

Hear the Furth’s say it is not them…..no involvement at all?…….HMMMM….then say so and a retraction shall be forth coming …but…they will be on record saying it ain’t so…

No doubt they know who is involved if not them…for it goes without saying…an ad in the Times…below the VFD …..not hard to figure …only a handful of the “usual suspects”…

heard around town…BAD MOVE….not nice to “slap” a woman…any woman…brings consequences of a backlash….we are told…..YIKES…..
