A LITTLE HISTORY……. 10 YEARS OF LBTS ARTS AND CRAFT FAIRS…

Thank you for your very nice remarks on the Art/Craft Show. A little background: 10 years ago when I was Program Manager for the Main Street Program (that went belly up) I brought the show to town. After Main Street folded I gave it to the Chamber who has been doing it ever since. Howard Alan Events (he does the Las Olas Art Show) gets all the vendors, does all the advertising and we set up a booth to sell our LBTS merchandise. When Bill Davis was president he had the very brilliant idea to offer the parking lot to our Chamber members at a reduced cost compared to what Howard Alan charges to help out our local businesses. It has worked very well and this past week-end the members were all happy with the crowds that attended.

Just thought you might like to know how this all happened.

Judy

Thanks for the background…faithful readers love to know this stuff…and what a surprise that on the 10th anniversary…former President…and LBTS business owner Bill Davis finally took part in his own “brilliant idea”…to find out just how brilliant it was!…

Note to readers…background and history from individuals and organizations…are always welcome…and encouraged!…

Many at the Arts and Craft Fair were glum …hearing the news…of no Christmas-By- The- Sea festivities this year…just a simple tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 2nd, 7 pm…Hopefully next year…we will be back on track…

THE ANGLIN MONUMENT …

What’s up with the historic Anglin Monument that is stuck out in front of the Minto construction site?…

Long ago Minto came to the podium and discussed the move of this cherished monument….. was this another case of staff dropping the ball?…This oversight needs to be addressed…ASAP!…

THEY ARE LINING UP…

Yet another resident stepped forward with a name of another formidable candidate…this resident hopes to inspire to run for commission from the north end of town…to oppose McIntee if he decides to make another run for commission from this side of town…this writer’s lips are sealed…but… WOW…if this keeps up…the race will be quite crowded …offering enormous opportunity for the town to choose new elected officials with credentials unsurpassed…and calm …pleasant demeanors sorely desired by the residents…

more to come…
