Dear Readers… It’s about time!… It took about 2 years to bring the Master Plan to a workshop…Commissioner Dodd tried unsuccessfully to provide the present MPSC  with all of the past studies and plans we have long heard were “up on the shelves somewhere” ……only to be met with resistance…Comm. Dodd was accused and berated by the Mc-Furth “Gang” of trying to “direct” the committee without the proper consensus of the dais…When he was tried putting it on the agenda… again there was no support from the present majority as expected while they remain under the thumb of the Furths at Town Hall East ..Forget about any forward movement to utilize these town boards and get a head start on this all important plan for the next 10 years in LBTS…….On the contrary, these 33′ “maximum height” revisionists of past referendums dug  in their heels…..to stop all movement period in order to trap us all  in their time-warp-ed sense of “Mayberry”…By-The-Sea…

Take the time to read the workshop agenda back-up and familiarize yourselves with the 2005 plan….. It had so much to offer and so much of it was actually incorporated over time…The need to start all over because the Town Manager has declared it all outdated…is not so, in this writer’s opinion… Just as the Comprehensive plan was revised… this Master Plan can be as well….

The Beautification backup…is the Ocampo and Chen & Assoc. renditions of what was brought to the commission some months back …after their meeting with the MPSC committee… (prev. post)…but after this expense…Comm. Silverstone and other commission members backed off the idea of doing the medians altogether!… This after the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute fiasco when the students were treated so poorly by this commission and Town administration….. the lack of a timely response for their completed projects…and culminating in a sorry excuse for a proper commission selection event for the winner with no real acknowledgment of the students as a whole in their 2nd effort to beautify our town…….( the first A.I. project was the Beach Pavilion)…Now it seems their projects will sadly join all the other such projects ultimately rejected by commissions……They will be relegated to be “on the shelves somewhere”!…. What a shame….
