What a sketch they would have had with Hillary….on “Jewish time” x2…….. (full disclosure BCbythesea is Jewish)……..30 minutes late for her “concession”… the “suspending” her campaign…. speech….
CNN…Fox… we could not tell the difference…with the commentators left to fill in the “dead air” time… due to her tardiness …on a Saturday afternoon…
“They’re prying her hand off the doorknob…”
“It’s Bill …he’s probably on the phone….”
“They’ve just “loaded” her mother in the SUV….”
“Maybe they snuck out back…..”
along with those in the cheap seats…off-air…
“Maybe Obama’s “ranting priest”…had it right after all! ……..
she’s inside…she’s with Bill….she’s saying…to her entourage….I’m Bill’s wife…. “…you all know the rest….
45 minutes late to the podium….
it was well worth the wait….for all women…especially those with daughters…
Her start-up…”well, this wasn’t the party I planned….but I sure do like the company….”
Right up there with “You had me at hello….” (yes…non- historical…but memorable all the same….)
and … “we may not have broken that glass ceiling…but it has 18 million cracks”…(paraphrasing)…just perfect…
Faithful readers know BCbythesea… is no old-time fan of Senator Clinton…but just as the comparison above to the Tom Cruise movie…”Jerry McGuire”…this was pure…Reese Witherspoon in “Election”…
and cable news parody over her “Rocky” comparison from earlier in the campaign…..with this speech ….she did indeed have a knockout….over both her male opponents…….
Sorry it did not go all the way to Denver….that would have really been something to watch!….
Her Democratic opponent…is now the sole presidential candidate of the Democratic party….and must prove he has some substance…beyond the fawning media…
Yep…another Saturday Night Live reference… which unfortunately rings all too true… to many….
Worse though is the disturbing actions from some ardent supporters ….felt recently by this writer…..
A “friend” who became uncomfortably accusatory …when told of a post …questioning a “guerrilla” style poster…previous post….an encounter at a place of business…when it was asked for the umpteenth time…”are you for Obama?”…(again paraphrasing)….when the “wrong” answer came forth….answering…”No”…sudden and immediate silence…YIKES!….
End of discussion….no interest in the reasons….you are in …a supporter….or…. you are out?…YIKES!…
Not alone out here though…in non-supporter of Obama land….not kicked off the island…yet….
A couple indicated they are not comfortable with Obama… just not feeling “it”…and still not sure where he stands…. on anything….
A delivery team from a local store…..Hispanic…able to vote…….made no bones about it…as they saw him on our TV…I’m voting McCain they said…Hillary…maybe…Obama no way….
The real debate begins…if as discussed by the pundits…many are in the works… for Obama and McCain….. as they go head- to- head towards November….
It does however, remain to be seen if his supporters will follow suit….
