Battalion Chief Patrick Pointu has resigned as of Monday night…24 hours before the VFD were officially reinstated..The official line…on the record..he was the interim Administrator…and decided not to renew…also deciding to resign as Battalion Chief…going forth…

Heading out to the VFD/AMR…Event of blessing the departments… I saw the 1st Pompano Beach EMS truck exiting the Sea Ranch Shopping Center….they will be the busy ones…along with Pompano Fire…with the large number of calls stemming from the complex…

It was quite something at the 9/25/08 Commission meeting when the Manager made it abundantly clear that the contract between the Town and AMR does not allow for the AMR fire fighter in the ambulance to assist the VFD at the scene…at any time…
