Here’s The Scoop … Scene And Heard Around Town …

IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS …..

Dear Readers…along Commercial this year it’s snowflakes…last year it was candles…So where do old holiday street decorations go anyway?… On A1A the Town of LBTS has new Seasons Greetings banners as well.. “command car red ” with candy canes!…

A stop by the VFD for their 4th quarter income/expense report (post to come) showed that there may be some changes in store…on the wall were nominations for VFD officers…and some surprising names for Deputy Chief…….Ron McGirr and Joe Padden……with Deputy Chief 12  conspicuously MIA  from the list…. Chief Perkins was the only name listed for Chief…BUT …we hear nominations may be made from the floor when the VFD meets on Dec 14th for their monthly meeting and annual elections of officers for 2010…Will the members stand up and the VM/Dep. Chief 12 stand down?…Will someone stand to challenge Chief Perkins? …Who will drive the coveted red  command car next year?…stay tuned!….

Around town there is a lot of talk over the VFD Booster Fund Drive mailer….. Some are giving because they always did…Some are not hearing the VFD gets $73,000 + a month from the taxpayer already for their 66 members… And some are holding off due to ads being placed with their donations to the Mc-Furth BTSTimes… It’s not nice to divert taxpayer’s donation dollars for political publications.coming from El Mar Drive…

Today by the BCbythesea home on Washingtonia there was quite a response…a man was down for the count…too much Christmas cheer?…The response BSO…2 AMR ambulances .. the VFD firetruck and the red command car… too much of a response!…

Still ongoing… talking about “Clueless”  Clottey at the POA meeting…proving herself to be just as mind boggling daft off the dais as well as on…She told Bob Wolfe from BCPA  property taxes were lower for people with different professions…He was as confused by her statement as we all were …He asked her to explain, and she replied she “I don’t want to my neighbors in trouble!”… On the other side of the room …we asked what profession she was talking about?…And quickly one constituent responded  maybe the “oldest profession”…referring to Commissioner Clottey’s previous dais statement that complaining was really the “world’s oldest profession!”… After she finished, Mr Wolfe said they had no idea of the professions of the property owners and again explained how the BCPA did their property appraisal depending on the …property!…Comm. Clottey was seen speaking to Mr Wolfe after he finished…Her neighbors of the Commissioner may be receiving an unwanted call…OUCH!…

Too funny, It seems Comm. Clottey is not happy that her car was caught parked so often in front of Town Hall east…so now she parks in the El Prado parking lot and walks to her favorite place to be in town!…

Candidate Chris Vincent has been on the run this week … events each night …and door to door in between … in the south and in the north…

Tomorrow …it’s the first Saturday of the month LBTS-Chamber of Commerce Beach Cleanup … 9 am at the Commercial Blvd. Beach Pavilion…

Followed by the Community Church Craft and Outreach Fair at the LBTS Community Church on Bougainvilla at 10 am …

And of course…in the evening…if it’s Saturday…it’s time to Rock and Roll with Elvis…courtesy of Athena By The Sea …

more to come….
