WEAR IT LIKE A BADGE OF HONOR!…
Dear Readers….Today……we hear the “usual suspects” are “targeting” those who are taking a stand…whether posting in their chosen Blogs…”Topix/Slapp” …sending out code enforcement …giving warnings and citations…or even calling employers with (it is said) “slanderous” remarks!….
Today…stand tall …stand straight….and wear these “targeted” attacks like a badge of honor!…
Today….it means the Mc-Furth-Colon Gang are desperate…and taking desperate measures ….due to the dwindling support from not only the community but from within their own organization and VFD department members…
Today….we hear they have only collected for the CIC/VFD July 4th 2009 as of June 24th event…Per the Town’s memo… …$5,600.00!…Last year they had $35,000.00…..The volunteers are 99.9% CIC/VFD with CIC volunteer numbers way down and VFD (despite assertions by Chief Perkins) putting in the mandated 4 hour minimum out of fear of being fired!…
Today …..around town we hear the “dismissal” of Chief Gooding is gaining momentum…E-mails and letters have been sent to commissioners….Radio shows are calling for the Manager to be fired…….(prev.post)….Residents with expertise in Law, policy, politics and law enforcement are doing lots of research….
Today ….we hear many will come for the parade…but the rest of what’s scheduled…the afternoon CIC/VFD Beach Blast/Fireworks off the beach…with the handpicked…CIC Citizen of the Year…July 4th Event Coordinators Marc and Crisite Furth…(prev. post…the CIC sent a letter to the members allowing only reg. board members to qualify giving Mrs. Furth special consideration)…and the Vice Mayor’s assertions of “something that will resonate throughout the town”…(perhaps it “resonated” it prematurely with the Manager’s termination of the Chief?)…..Today….the reply is a resounding…”PASS!”….If they stick to their guns…(pun intended) ….This writer will cover it all……….and post….throughout the day…
Today….”WE WON’T FORGET!”…is the word going around town…from the north …the south…the homes…the condos….the businesses…the hotels… the CIC…OG…NG… UOT…..and it will continue tomorrow…and the day after that…and the day after that…until March 2010!……”THEY’RE TOAST”…
Today…this writer says…. if you came to speak…if you wrote your elected officials calling them on their actions…for not doing the will of the people….and have suddenly found yourself a target of the “Gang”……Welcome to the club!…
This “target” has worn that badge of honor for quite some time….and wouldn’t leave home without it!…
Tomorrow…….. is July 4th…Independence Day… no badge could be more American than the one that says you are willing to stand up for what is right!….
