Dear CAG / CME Member:

On behalf of John Rude, Chair of the Broward A1A Scenic Highway CAG/CME, we want to update you on our SR A1A Scenic Highway Designation package. The good news is that, in a whirlwind of activity, we were able to obtain all necessary signatures and make all recommended revisions to the draft material that was submitted recently for FDOT review.  The bad news is that our revised designation package missed the deadline by two working days. Because this is a strict deadline, action on our application has been postponed until June 2009.  While this is unfortunate, it will be important for us to continue to meet, make any additional adjustments to our designation package, and plan for our upcoming implementation phase. We look forward to a very positive determination in June and will look to each of you to help ensure that.

Please do not hesitate to contact John Rude at (954) 462-7766 or RudeJohnA@aol.com, Chris Heshmati at (954) 357-6658 or cheshmati@broward.org, Bett Kuttner at (954) 357-6648 or bkuttner@broward.org, or Gladys Leeks should you have questions or suggestions about how we will proceed over the next few months.

Thanks in advance,

Gladys Leeks, Associate Planner
