Sea Ranch Club…7/16/08

Areas Association Committee Meeting

Jonathan…walked away a happy Landscape Foreman after hearing accolades from residents and board members…..for the “sprucing” up…of the tree on the property….pun intended….

He reported that he hired a 4th landscaper that began work on this day….he met with 3 other companies to trim all the trees…previous post….

The companies…

Lacey…May bid was $9741…included a $600 fuel charge… to be revisited to see if there is a change in price…

Allison Tree Co…..$9385…lowest bid….went to U of F…Davie … as did Jonathan…

Ted Connor……$10,500…highest bid…has done work here before…put in Palm trees….

Novo Arbor…waiting for bid….

Certified arborist in 3 companies..unsure about Lacy…

He also took care of irrigation pipes by Bldg. C…

Bldg. A has a problem with the main irrigation valve…not turning off…waiting  on the County…to fix.

In the process of checking out nurseries for plants…deliveries etc…..

Due to weather….time delays have occurred in outside projects…pools…tennis court…

The pool temps in B & C were raised 2 degrees…and the residents are now happy…no complaints…

Prices are increasing for “stock” items…paints…parts….so items we use regularly were ordered in a large quantity before the rate increase begins….

Much discussion about having maintenance contracts….a possibility of hiring an engineer to analyze the property and look for problems that need addressing…and a “timetable” for lifreexpectancy…to better prepare for each years budget…each fall….

Also discussed was the board meeting to call for a special assessment…to deal with a negative cash flow….finish projects this year…each building is putting in their list of items …to see the amount…and what is important…for immediate attention and what will be on hold…

We still do not have our Comcast contract….

calls will once again be made….

Much discussion once again…for either a special assessment or to include in the budget….replacing the 3 cabanas next year…along with lawn furniture…etc….

Friday 7/18/08…9:30 am …Ocean Room…our  AON insurance agent will make a presentation….to address our current situation/ and what was offered from competing agents over the past weeks….

There are now lights in front on A1A….Thanks in large part to Larry McGinnis….

more to come….
