Here’s The Scoop….Marie White

Marie White’s niece…Jeanne Bonney…sent me the following e-mail…to share with the readers….

Hi,

I am Marie White’s niece, Jeanne Bonney. I cared for her this past year, during which she always kept abreast of what was going on in town, reading the newspapers and watching the town meeting.

We thought she was going to pass away right before the 4th, but she rallied that day, no doubt bolstered by a visit from Jim Silverstone and Bob Karley with a firetruck and convertible from the parade. I am forwarding you a couple of pictures.

Over the past year, I have learned so much about my aunt through her actions. She loved LBTS. No task was too much for her if it involved her beloved town. Her sense of civic duty and community spirit was unsurpassed and contagious, as was her willingness to embrace whatever the event was she was participating in. Whether it was donning a bunny costume for an Easter Egg hunt, a Santa Clause outfit for a visit from Santa or handing out leaflets in the middle of traffic on Commercial Blvd., mu aunt threw herself into it without reservation. She had or notion of the meaning of the meaning of the word “no.”

If you can think of any special way we, as her family can honor her memory in town, please let me know. If you can make her wake or funeral or The Grille after the mass please look for me.

Please forward this on if you’d like to.
