Here’s The Scoop

What’s the deal with the purchase of the A1A property?…

There are real questions…that need real answers….

1. What fund were these “earmarked” funds in?

BCbythesea was told …from the $3.4 million fund…how so?…if that was the fund for the now defunct Palm Club sewers…that would not have left enough money to acquire the property…and…

we were told the monies in that account …were not specifically designated for the sewers…but capital improvements….

so what’s up?

2. Is the “plan” to tear down the hotel and build a brand new public safety building…or to fix it up to accommodate the VFD/AMR….similar to the “fix-up” that was put forth for Jarvis Hall and overwhelmingly rejected by the residents?

3. Does the commission and administration understand that down this way…outside of the “beltway”…those who voted with their pocketbooks…yes “those” people…who made the difference in this last election…are seeing the $ going out….at an alarming rate…

from the dais…$1.77 million for property…and  either thousands for updating the existing hotel or millions more for a public safety building…for firefighters…..4th firetruck….AMR….

and the “savings” of BSO being replaced….is rightly or wrongly…lost… or worse…..less than where we are heading….

This is the talk….besides the port….

Clarifications…need to be presented….

Questions need to be asked….and followed up on….

fast….
