Just out online…the Sun-Sentinel reports that Hillsboro went ahead and swore in their commissioners last night as planned without the official certification from the Supervisor of Election’s office!
Although representative Mary Cooney said that it is only official when certified by her office, Hillsboro decided that the votes were not going to change.

One of the major worries throughout this campaign was having the best EMS service available in LBTS.
Fears were heightened to a fever pitch when stories were told about replacing BSO with an ambulance transport service.

In today’s Sun-Sentinel is an article about Broward cutbacks …to the tune of 94 million!
This time around though, it’s not only parks and county agencies being told to bite the bullet, BSO must also comply.
BSO Sheriff’s office comprises 1/2 of the county’s general operations budget, libraries 7 %, mass transit 5 %.
